We will find out a lot about dhawan facing Johnson

Dhawan was out twice, the thrid ump was clearly blind. So, the jury is still out. He had clearly miscued the shot , a slower one from Clint, had deceived him no end. There were a lot of hits and misses against johnson. This is still ODI cricket where there is pressure to score quickly. So, he will still do better in Test for all we know.

Overall, Dhawan, Rohit and Kohli have nicely handled a really rejuvenated Johnson, sending down 150 k + well directed missiles. Today's pitch did not offer lateral movement but had bounce and decent pace. Playing a 150 k pacer on such a surface is not as easy as some are thinking.

Its the pace and bounce that troubled Dhawan in the previous match. This pitch had enough bounce and MJ was running in with the same pace as in the last game.
No. This track was not as quick and bouncy, was a bit dry.

It was never a problem for him. His non-bowling arm was very good. You do not generate such pace with no use of non-bowling arm. He needs to make him runup a bit more fluid like Shukla and Yadav.
Also needs to get leaner n fitter in the upper body & strengthen his lower body which is absolutely crucial for a fast bowler.

This pitch still had sufficient bounce and the ball was coming on to the bat. Even Vinay Kumar got a couple above the shoulders. The way our top 3 batters handled Johnson is quite commendable.
I thought you are a Pakistani :nervous: Why you got such a parosi isque username?

:hysterical: :hysterical: And I thought Austin from London is English. :cantstop: With Srinath and then Umesh and Aaron coming through, fast bowlers are not our padosi's monopoly any more. Also, watching a true fast bowler bowling in test cricket , on a green top, is one of the best sights in cricket imo. Also, as I express my opinions mainly about bowling here, the username is intended as a bit of a pun. P.s - there is another poster here, " Express pace " , who is a Pakistani.

4 for 46 on a 280 pitch. Must be sticking to line and length Vekatesh lessons at 125 kmph with grunts?
He alone pushed India's score back form 350 to under 300.

Johnson was slower than he usually is bowling in the early to mid 140s for most of his bowling spells. I thought though he won a lot of mental battles out there. The CSK crew have been scarred by him in the IPL. Even MS despite his innings resorted to respecting MJ. As an MI fan all i can say is hold onto MJ. Malinga is slowly being found out in India
