If it means 2 years out of cricket so be it. Needs time to sort out all the technical glitches that have crept in.

Zak had a brilliant 2nd innings Nehra,Munaf re-invented themselves as ODI specialists and had a decent run Even Irfan had a 2nd stint as more of an allrounder/Bits and pieces player. None of them were political picks,they all re-invented themselves. Is there a scope here? Nehra could have been a decent bowler if he didn't have so many injuries. Remember how well he bowled in the 03 World Cup? Same goes for zaheer, even Munaf had some skill and control about his bowling but fitness was a huge issue...they weren't world beaters but they didn't singehandedly lose games either. Problem is that ishank, unlike those guys, has no skill. He doesn't know how to get batsmen out, he can't bowl in good areas for longer than 1 over. He will continue to be the same bowler.
MCcricket Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Manjrekar or Akash had written a article a few months back about how Ishant had decided to cut down on pace and become an accurate bowler, he lost the only good quality he had pace coming from height and bounce, he can't move the ball or is accurate and now no bounce so canon fodder, by the way why does he always look better in IPL , he has to bowl in 140 use his wrist and work on his action, let him play county or domestic, it is worth loosing him if he can come back like Zack

But that near future should be an year from now and not before. Also in test rather than ODI'S. Need to be hungry to bowl like he was when he first came against Pakistan and later went to Australia. That time he could bowl long spell and at this time he doesn't look like bowling more than 4-5 overs on trot. Go back to Ranji perform, get into India A side and see how it goes. Age is still very much on his side.

That two wickets covered how he bowled earlier in that match. If a team wants to target a bowler for quick runs Ishant will be one of the top 5 bowlers going around in the world. Sometimes you gift wicket to bowlers when you try to overattack them. That is how he picked out Morgan and Bopara. I am glad that happened in a CT final rather than in a meaningless game. Let me put this way. His bad days bad sessions far outweigh his good days , good sessions.

Good thing about this type of series (which doesn't have any relevance when you think about it) is hopefully they will get rid of all the dead wood in the team.

Indian bowlers in general have just plain sucked. Bhuvi has looked ordinary.

Australians have a clear plan that they will play Bhuvi initial overs with caution because they know that once the foundation is set they can cash on other bowlers or bhuvi later on.

He needs to first find a stock ball which moves, then concentrate on bowling it rapid i.e 85 to 88 at least. He can do it. But maybe attitude stinks, I dont know. He has bowled pretty quick before, so why drop in speeds. If can bowl quick can make up for other inadequaices like not being able to move the ball at will
