Ashwin as an opener this test series? Lets face it, his batting looks all class and extremely comfortable against fast bowling. Got a touch of VVS in it in terms of drives and timing. Also lets face it, his bowling in crap and going downhill. If I have to play Ashwin and since he is in such a good batting form - Why not open with him? That will help us to play an extra bowler. Keep ashwin at 8, jadeja out. Ashwin will be useful in forming partnerships with rohit, dhoni etc. Vijay deserves his series. I think he has the temperament, maybe not the exact skill but we'll see. If it means that he'll play out the new ball and play carefully, it could mean some success
