If we want to win test match in Sa,we will have to deploy a four pronged pace attack Zaheer Shami Ishant Yadav

We should play 4 seamers. No point in playing Ashwin who is completely ineffective on pitches which have no assistance. I have no confidence in him of getting wickets on SA tracks. Zak, Shami, Umesh, B kumar should be our attack. That way we have 3 new ball bowlers who can get swing - Zak, Shami, B Kumar , 3 who can reverse the ball (Zak, Umesh, Shami) and 2 who can bowl at a good pace (Umesh and Shami) They should still wait and watch to see how Zak does in the tour game to see if he is fit enough and bowling well to play in the 1st test. Otherwiise, Ishant should play. No point in having a half fit, underperforming Zaheer in the side just because of his experience. Rohit Sharma can always roll his arm over for a few overs.

IMO, our batting will disappoint us, not the bowling. We will get SA for 300-400 in each inning, but batsmen will struggle to cross 200. Hope I am proved wrong.

This is my biggest worry about Zak. Is he fit enough to bowl with intensity throughout the day ?

If its a green track, I would expect Fletcher to force dhoni to play 4 fast bowlers and drop either ashwin or jadeja. The last time we played 4 fast bowlers was in Perth where Vinny the pooh spoiled the fun. Should we play 4 pace bowlers , zak, umesh, shami, bhuvi / ishant can do the demolition job and pick 20 wickets. If its a green track and still dhobi plays both ashwin and jaddu, we are doomed.

I don,t think any bowler wiill consciously reduce 3 or 4 miles like turning down radio volume. May be we are over estimating their capacity to sustain their speed

Problem with BK in tests is that with new ball can be effective. Then after that cos has no wheels just becomes a 78mph bowler who bowls up and down. Basically with old ball just a trundler
