Many bowlers have been compared to Malcolm Marshall over last couple of decades. Ofcourse Marshall was one top 5 greatest bowlers ever. But I can't think of one bowlers who reminds me as much of him as Ryan Harris. Probably taller and longer run up. But the best wrist position in the game by far. Can bowl as fast as any of them ? Probably not so much now with injury. I saw him bowl 95 mph in one of his early games Quick bouncer. Generates pace off the pitch. He would have been an all time great had it not been for injuries. Just hope he plays for another 2-3 years which looks optimistic with his knee injury. To me, one of the best bowlers I have seen.

Grad hold of the days highlights. Anderson gets carted to all parts of the WACA for 28 runs in his over. Than, Harris gets Cook out first ball with an unplayable delivery. Riveting stuff.

Mark Taylor brought this comparison up in the commentary box. He is a very very good bowler. His credentials will always be rated based on his performances all over the world. Not that he would have failed in India. With his accurate bowling he could have done some damage even in India much like Jason Gillespie.

It's sad that recycled garbage like Ishant Sharma has played so many tests achieving nothing whilst talented bowlers like Harris have had their careers disrupted badly by injury.

Ryan Harris is class. If he had stayed fit and played more tests to prove his worthiness, he could have been a great bowler. That ball to Cook was sublime.

He is a gun bowler. Certainly among top 3 bowlers in the world today along with Steyn and Philander. Hope that he manages to play 10 tests more.

A bowler who elicits a feeling of pleasant surprise simply by staying uninjured for successive series should not should not be included in the category of ‘Great’. Greatness is what Steyn does – Season after season, he shows up and delivers for his team. Even Ishant Sharma had a tremendous couple of seasons in international cricket. That does not mean he is labeled a great also.

Dude do not compare him with sharma this guy is biggest loss of cricket in last decade for me cos he can be as good as steyn and has never had a flop match in his career no matter where he played Yeah greatness also need longevity but to me he is one of the best bowlers in last decade and I do not need stats to tell me that

Much much better comparison But he debuted before this decade :--D I loved his action but I love bowling of harris more its less flashy but bloody effective bond was just awesome to watch :((

Same category of players, same rules – You cannot categorized as a ‘Great’ unless you can perform in international cricket over an extended period of time. You could miss out on cricket due to variety cricketing and non-cricket reasons – Harris has had injury issue, Bond had a mixture of fitness+ICL issues, Mohammed Aamir was banned for 5 years – but sustained consistency is a pre-requisite for greatness. Short bursts award winning performances inevitably followed by extended periods of injury wont cut it.

That's personal opinion ..I liked asif more he was much more skilled and really loved how he set up people
