I have seen a much flatter pitch in SA. Capetown is one. Usually very conducive to Indian style of batting.

We make piches look flat with this new batting line up, just like sachin and co did It seems unless we make runs on pitches which look like a jungle and with grass up to theri heads, its straight away labelled flat cos India made runs on it Put pakis on this pitch and they would be all out by now. Full marks to the Indian batsmen but the coverage seemed to focus on the pitch during the lights break and show how brown it is and Wessels kept whining about it too. Also from past experience honestly did not except our young team to be 180/1 against this attack in Durban(based on past reputation) when I woke up. All in all fabulous day

Although durban pitch has slowed down still its a good test pitch. Tests are played for 5days and every game shld not end in 3days. This pitch is lot quicker than any of the subcontinent pitches, so our bowlers will not be disheartened seeing this pitch.

BCCI didn't pay them but CSA will earn more money if the match goes 5 days not 3. There is a financial incentive and it becomes magnified when India are in town.

Saffers already whining that pitch is slow. What does that mean ? That they could only do well in tailor made conditions for them ? Let's wait till India finish the batting and our bowlers also bowl on this wicket before declaring the pitch is "bland".

Don't think this is the flattest of the tracks.

Some balls kept low but most of them carried briskly to AB. Some of Peterson's ball turned into the batsmen as well. Vijay tonked him around the park. The ones he slogged to the leg side was played with that little spin which turned into him. Day 4-5 should be the best for spinners. Rohit might have to bowl too. Hopefully the rain stays away in Day 4 & 5.
