Can Johnson Inspire likes of Umar Gul and Ishant Sharma?

Inspiration has to come from within. Ishant is a hard worker but he remains under the impression that he is bowling very well, its just luck and with the time his luck will change and he will pick wickets. His continuous selection adds more weight to his delusion.

Gul has been my favourite pak bowler for some time now, quality, even when he was young he showed maturity. One of the best LOIs bowlers. Yorkers from hell! We would be lucky if ishant was even in the same league as gul

Nobody can inspire Ishant Sharma. Not Johnson. Not Donald. Not McGrath. Not even if the dead Malcolm Marshall were to come to life again and start terrifying batsmen. Nobody. Nothing will work. Nothing. Stop discussing Ishant Sharma. End of story.

Johnson was a decent bowler who lost it completely 4/5 years ago and most of us thought his career was over. But he proved that you can come back stronger with desire and hard work. Now this should be an example for some other underachieving fast bowlers mainly Ishant Sharma and Umar Gul. These guys have all the tools to be very good test bowlers but for some reason are not performing. I remember Gul was a yard quicker when he came back from a back injury in 06/07. With Aamir and Asif banned automatic selection has stopped his progress. He is 29 and should be inspired by Johnson re emergence. Sharma impressed us all Aus all those years ago with his pace and bounce and was this great Indian hope. In last few years he has declined big time and is lucky to be in the team. He is still young and should look at Johnson to see where desire and work can take you. Sharamnaak signature.
Pissant?? :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Johnson has a brain, Pissant doesn't.

Harris was always an awesome bowler. Its his injuries that failed him.
He wasn't this awesome 10 years ago. Kept getting better and better, and he was selected when he'd hit his peak, and has maintained it consistently.

Johnson even though erratic and inconsistent was never as bad as Ishant anytime. Ishant is just gone, I just hope that he is let go to play couple of years of domestic cricket without any international matches. Unless he does that he will not improve. Tell me a sustained period of time when Ishant was out of the team. Johnson was dropped and he worked hard on fitness and came back into the team as a better bowler. Ishant needs to be dropped.

No, he was not that, just 6-7 years back. Till his mid to late 20s, he was an ordinary FC trundler who did not even have a permanent place in his state team.

No' date=' he was not that, just 6-7 years back. Till his mid to late 20s, he was an ordinary FC trundler who did not even have a permanent place in his state team.[/quote'] Exactly. He improved on all counts.

Domestic cricket wont do Ishant any good, he picks up truck-loads of wickets here.. He should have a stint in SS or County. Like Dhoni said other day our bowlers need to learn to hit the deck hard, though it does raise a question as to why he didn't opt for Yadav in tests.
