So how long can we continue to carry players who are there because Dhoni likes them? 1.Ishant Sharma:IS RUBBISH!!!! 2.Jadeja/Ashwin:While they make a good contribution if the matches are in India playing 2 spinners abroad doesnt make any sense.Secondly Jadeja and Ashwin both arent any good with the bat in ODIs and which means basically we are playing with 6 batters and 5 bowlers. 3.Raina:You bowl short and he is out!!!!!

Cricketics Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 This is why Gambhir is so vital even in odi's He is someone we can rely on when not all are doing the job. Gambhir did save us during these situations like how Kohli played. We can chase down as many games 300+ games in India, but when its about chasing 260+, we need more people to chip in and Gambhir is perfect for such scenarios. Unfortunately every match of India Gambhir in the middle order or open should be great for Indian ODI teamm. He needs to be there if we are to win the wc 2015. This is not twent20.

How about the wickets Jadeja and Ashwin took against the Windies. Actually Im beginning to think Ashwin is a more useful batsman than Nohit abroad!! What say?! At least be consistent when pointing fingers...Nohit has recieved the long rope treatment as well...with his regular disappointments he should be kicked out of this side along with Raina nad Ishanth!!

I said only one of Jadeja or Ashwin can play overseas because of the conditions.In SC they both can play. vvvslaxman Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Current Gambhir is no good. We should put "come to India" on notice as he is clearly struggling against new ball when it is doing a bit. He should be shifted down the order and Promote Rahane as opener and restore some sanity.
