Mariyam Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 :hysterical: yup lots of arabs in Chennai... Nope, there are hardly any Arabs in the UAE. Most people there are Malayalis, who are linguistically and culturally very close to Tamilians. I remember reading somewhere that Tamil is an East coast corruption of the original West coast Dravidian tongue- Malayalam. And they support your team by the droves.

No amount of braying from your ilk will make that a truth. Tamil is and will be always the primary Dravidian language. If you call Tamil the only classical language in India other than Sanskrit, a corruption just to win a club cricket fan matchup then the jokes on you. :icflove:

Malayalam most likely originated from Middle Tamil (Sen-Tamil) in the 6th century.[8] An alternative theory proposes a split in even more ancient times.[8] Through the ages, Malayalam incorporated many loanwords from Sanskrit, which altered the number of letters in the Malayalam script.[9] Malayalam with minimal Sanskrit loanwords is Thani Malayalam. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malayalam
