Why was Amit Mishra ignored over the years?

Tougher tests await though and it will be interesting to see if he's our lone spinner in England tests now.
Would be a mistake not to take Jadeja as well (as an all rounder rather than a specialist). I'd also like to see more of Ojha. It would be worth having some spin options in England.

He's unfit' date=' poor in the field, can't really bat, and has a huge no ball problem. This is a big deal for LOI games[/quote'] In spite of his tummy, he was diving around in this tournament. :giggle:

:cantstop: I think Mishra has gotten the perfect treatment based on merit. I don't believe he will do much. Let us see what he does outside the SC. With Ashwin losing his luster, might not be that bad to replace with Mishra.

he wasnt as good as this before but work on his game and improving his craft has led to this. its been only kohli who's backed him and now dhoni has.. lets see how long this lasts. Im a fan of mishra, believed in him since last ipl and thought he was the leggie we needed. If he just loses some weight and works on his core, he might get more spin?

I've been a big Mishra fan and on his debut had (in) famously marked him a 300 wicket taker. He pi$$ed away his career by becoming fat and bowling no balls. Will be great to see him make a comeback.

Look at Sunil Narine, he's very good in T20s but much less effective in ODIs and a pretty bad bowler in Test Cricket. He thrives on his uncertainty factor which is not that important (probably) in Test cricket. Batsman are not obliged to go after every ball in Test cricket. Rather they wait for bad balls and score on them. In T-20, where batsman is almost certain to go after you, these spinners thrive. In fact, in T-20 ranking, all top bowlers are spinners (Kula is the only medium pacer in top 10). I think Amit Mishra is in the same category. He's very good in T-20s, good at ODIs and probably won't be that good in Test cricket. This is just my thoughts ... it could turn out to be different if he changes his bowling a bit ...

He is spinning the ball better now and flighting it a lot more......also his line & length has improved tremendously.......So, he might be effective in test matches as well........ But he is certainly good in ODi's for sure.......he is making the srilanka and paksitan work hard for their runs.....certainly he has what it takes to be successful in one day matches.....he is going to be a huge factor in australia

:hysterical: he looks in better shape since he quit being an athlete
I remember this guy's fielding in the Natwest 07. The ball was running down to the boundary, Powar dives and rather than sliding towards the ball he gets stuck in the field. :cantstop:

Because he was a no-ball specalist earlier and now he is a wicket taking specialist
And Jadeja has become the no-ball specialist these days. He probably will end up taking most wickets in no-balls ...
