veer Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Just saw Yuvi's face after lanka won the game.. jeez he was almost in tears... Forget it yaar.. Yuvi has done a lot of things for India team. I think it was just freaking Lanka's days... damn.. they didnt even use sixth bowler.. everything just perfectly fell into places for them...
veer Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 It was not a right move sending Yuvraj ahead of Raina. We were struggling in SF too when Yuvraj was batting. We already had a slow start in final and Raina needed to come in who could starting playing shots get go. We did not lose match just because of 17-20 overs but also because of what we did 11-16. When we had a decent but slowing start' date=' we needed an acceleration after 10 overs which never happened. Dhoni's mentality is to rely on last 4-5 over to score maximum runs but with Malinga there, it backfired.[/quote'] you can say that in hind sight.. but Raina is for 15-20 over player.. as Dhoni said Raina is the only player who can hit from ball one... and that's useful in later overs.. if Raina came at no.4 and lost his wicket.. we could have been in more trouble.. again.. all in hind-sight.. anyways... what's done is done. Lanka bowled well and we lost..

Lanka bowled well and we lost.. Really. Raina is the only guy to have a T20I 100 for India that too batting at 3. Dont confuse with ODIs here and it is not a hindsight. I said it when Yuvraj came in to bat. Most of the people though the same, only Dhoni could not see how Yuvraj has been struggling in this tournament. This wasn't the match to give someone confidence. Raina is our best T20 striker by far since Yuvraj was struggling. He is one batsman who can start playing shots from get go.

King Tendulkar Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 He is right to defend yuvraj and any player publicly Shame he does not do that for any fast bowler like yadav and aaaron, then he is quick to stick the knife in

The Realist Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Barcelona and Eric abidal say hi. Cut your losses and move on. International sport is a ruthless arena not a cosy retirement home.
Switchblade Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Yuvi will be back as a coach' date='he is srk of chak de india[/quote'] Will he coach the women's team or under 19 team and will Robin be his assistant coach :giggle::giggle: ? What a day though yesterday Dhoni's winning streak in the finals came to an end and just checked that THE UNDERTAKER lost to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania his undefeated streak also came to an end he is 21-1 now :omg: stunned.
NareshK Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Tournament is finished. Everyone should move on. We dont play any international T20s anyway, so it wont make any big difference for our cricket from here. India did most things right in this tournament but just stumbled in the final step. It happens in T20 format where you can lose against any side on a day if a few things dont go your way. What matters is the overall performance and they did win most games comfortably. I dont think Yuvraj will play for India again. So that's a positive because I dont see him doing well in international cricket from here.
Switchblade Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 The overseas beating has taken its toll on Dhoni and the management and when they started to win they were afraid to experiment or be flexible it was a complete braindead/defensive move to send Yuvraj at 4 when Raina finished or helped India in the previous game with his cameo of 22 of 10.Raina is our best player in T20's and the fact is that on Asian pitches he is a gun player and if watching Yuvraj taking the match till the final over against Westindies or even the Aussie innings was not a fluent one and against Proteas he was scratchy and the 4 that came of Tahir was not convincing so the Coach/Captain should have realized it but they are stubborn and paid for it.While Yuvraj was pathetic what I feel is that the pressure got to him and he became blank and just became clueless and was not able to put bat on ball that's what happened and he will be under more pressure in the IPL now highest paid player and with 14 matches to play if he perishes again considering he has an ordinary IPL record might also end his IPL career.
beetle Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Yeah...defend a veteran for playing a selfish innings and gifting the world cup final away. But call newbie bowlers brainless publicly for bowling a few bad balls in lesser matches. They are not his yaars .

They are not his yaars . because hes a proven performer? also if this was a lesser match, maybe he'd go at Yuvi too.doesnt make sense for captain to bash a player who's house is already being stoned

saneindian Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 So you expect him to crucify a guy who has won him a WT20 and ODI WC. Not going to happen. BTW those talking of Yuvi's poor form in the tournament and hence a need to drop him, guess what-The MoM in the final had scores of 1, 4, 0, 14 in 5 matches before the finals! But SL did not decide to drop him either and he went onto win them the cup. Yuvi failed but that can happen. Should not be crucified for that failure. Also, go back to the last WT20 - nearly every one else failed, Yuvi was the lone superstar for us with bat, ball and in the field then. Did not complain about his team at all. All these things happen in a long career like Yuvraj has had.
adi B Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Barcelona and Eric abidal say hi. Cut your losses and move on. International sport is a ruthless arena not a cosy retirement home. true but then abidal's from france and not a la mesia academy player ,case is a bit different for uv also indian cricket is not even close to the term 'ruthless'
The Outsider Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Raina can start hitting from ball 1, so Dhoni sends himself in before Raina with 2 overs left. Left-right combination should be maintained, so Dhoni sent himself ahead of Raina to accompany Kohli.

Malinga was going to bowl most of those overs and he is going to bowl those yorkers. Dhoni's reputation to whack even a yorker probably influenced the decision. The SL bowlers were really good + even Mr. Cool was under so much pressure. It was that kind of a day. :((
