How do you think he bowled this match?
as he usually does all over the place. How do you think he would succeed at international level when even domestic ranji players cart him around? the truth is Umesh has a sucky record in the Indian domestics in the limited overs. Be it List A, T20ws, IPL anything.

I doubt you saw the match then. He was very good in first 3 overs, in rhythm, took a wicket. One of the fours he conceded was an edge through slips He was good again in 4th over, went for 3 runs In the power play, 2 shots he went for was one full, hit straight for 4 and one upper cut over third man. Neither of them were really bad balls In the death, he bowled 2 wides and one attempted slower ball which went for 6 I don't know how any of these classifies as being all over the place

Atleast in the last 6 years' date='IPL has been the benchmark for selection in LOI's to some extent and Yadav was one of the best Indian fast bowlers last season.[/quote'] Exactly and he wasn't even played until KKR had played quite a few games. Vinnie was the preferred pacer and once umesh came in, KKR were better. Will happen when dhoni doesn't allow him to come into rhythm. Its about confidence, when in rhythm, he hits 145+ effortlessly.

yadav is a much better death bowler but obviously is out of rhythm...He is one of the reason why kkr won ipl this season. But need to stick at that yorker length at the death like shami did , rather than trying too many things. As far as conceding runs is concerned even Steyn got clobbered by Marsh for 3 consecutive sixes recently. Death bowling is not that easy

This what Dhoni said about bowling yorkers at the death

"The yorker is keeping things simple, but it is very difficult to execute," he said. "It takes a lot out of you, to bowl a yorker at a good pace. Especially with third man and fine leg inside, people look to use the ramp shot. You have to be aware of what is happening. To play that shot a lot of the batsmen get down very early, so you have to be aware of the field and at the same time be aware of what the batsman is trying to do. Still I feel most of the successful slog-over bowlers today are the ones who bowl the yorkers well."
Bowling 5 overs at a stretch in death is a bit too much for a bowler, and that too bowling yorkers after yorkers. you need a lot of stamina for that. Credit to shami for his pin-point execution. :hatsoff: But on a serious note a 5 over spell at death should not be allowed, at most 3 or 4 overs should be ideal

Yadav's peak speed is down
In that second spell(evil one over) he bowled first 3 or 4 at 85 then last 2 cranked up to 87. Who knows what speeds his second over would have been after being fully warmed up. Just like his whole career under dhoni we will be left wondering what could have been. So obvious was bowling 85 to 90%. High 80s reached with ease and min effort
