Different formats should have different criterias. For format specific players-- think bcci does not want this. There are many reason some has logic behind it some does not. For selection made based up-on FCC is makes sense. Selecting v.high performing batters in domestic can give good results. There are 2 main issues with that :: 1) Mst Ind test batters only come from 4/5 big test centres or domestic teams , batters outside these 4/5 centres are not selected in the 1st place and even if they are selected are not given longer rope. Batters are selected based on who has been making noise/waves in local media and ex-players from age group up till FC. This kind of waves can be made for only players from big centres. 2) Ind test batters (even the high performing fc batters) takes time and development cycle, as they have never faced that kind of bowling be it pace or the quality -- this is also true for batters from the past. So with wtc does the tm have time for that ?? or if its more rewarding to take a punt on high performing league batters ??? Plus now with IPL team trying to push their players into Ind team, selectors are under pressure and they are spreading the player in various formats regardless if it suites them or not. Batter like--dogra, Yash rathod, bawne, bhui, etc... never gets a chance because they are not playing for 4/5 big domestic teams. Vk1 1

If you select Test batsmen based on IPL, this is on selectors only. Development of players can be done on A tours. You don;t need to play Tests for that. WTC doesn't mandate chopping and changing as much as we have done. You still need to reward high performers in Ranjis and give them a decent chance

MK55 Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 (edited) Was watching the channel - Thefastbowlingcartel on YouTube. Nice watch. Fleming, Gillespie and McGrath were the hosts and they invited Starc over. Starc - Travs theory while he was putting his pads on - “It can’t be that difficult. Let’s go after him” McGrath has a great sense of humor lol. Edited November 27, 2025 by MK55
MK55 Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Good article by Greg Chappell. Crisp n to the point. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/england-need-to-shut-out-the-noise-and-look-in-the-mirror-1512529
MK55 Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Starc when asked - how does he maintain his pace? 1: Motivation to play at the international level. Thats number one. 2: Short breaks (even couple of weeks) n focusing on recovery n gym (at home also). Investing on the body. express bowling and Suhaan 2

You remember what happened to them after that WTC win?
Rightarmfast Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 (edited) @rkt.india Have you seen Md Izhar from Bihar? Saw him, he looked quick to me. Found this video- He is bowling a couple yards short, if he learns how to adjust his length, he could be much better. Edited November 28, 2025 by Rightarmfast tweaker, Mosher and Lone Wolf 3

Mosher Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 Ashok looking quick. Lot of short pitched bowling. Hitting the pitch. Got wicket of Mayank with a short delivery. Good 1st over but poor 2nd over so far. Lone Wolf and express bowling 2
