Speeds and Performances of Pacers and Spinners

Batters are selected based on who has been making noise/waves in local media and ex-players from age group up till FC. This kind of waves can be made for only players from big centres. 

 

2) Ind test batters (even the  high performing  fc batters) takes time and development cycle, as they have never faced that kind of bowling be it pace or the quality -- this is also true for batters from the past. So with wtc does the tm have time for that ?? or if its more rewarding to take a punt on high performing league batters ???

Plus now with IPL team trying to push their players into Ind team, selectors are under pressure and they are spreading the player in various formats regardless if it suites them or not.

 

 

Batter like--dogra, Yash rathod, bawne, bhui, etc... never gets a chance because they are not playing for 4/5 big domestic teams.

Failures of IPL and flawed Ranji system can't be blamed on WTC. If you select Test batsmen based on IPL, this is on selectors only.

WTC doesn't mandate chopping and changing as much as we have done. You still need to reward high performers in Ranjis and give them a decent chance

Yes, as there are v.few Odis now the test selection should be based on FCC (ranji).

Starc when asked - how does he maintain his pace?

 

1: Motivation to play at the international level. Thats number one.

 

2: Short breaks (even couple of weeks)  n focusing on recovery n gym (at home also). Investing on the body.

It's quite the opposite IMO,  *ing NZ sneaked through to the first final based on playing just at home & Cummins(Paine?) not bowling his full quota of overs against us! You remember what happened to them after that WTC win?

@rkt.india Have you seen Md Izhar from Bihar? Saw him, he looked quick to me. Found this video- He is bowling a couple yards short, if he learns how to adjust his length, he could be much better.

Rinku Singh is the best example. He has all - excellent fc record + IPL + T20I records but doesn't get picked as there is no PR or backing

Looks quick, nice strong fellow , it would be nice to have speed guns on all matches in India, how much do the speed guns cost ? Do you need to be an expert to use them ?

Ashok looking quick. Lot of short pitched bowling. Hitting the pitch. Got wicket of Mayank with a short delivery. Good 1st over but poor 2nd over so far.
