Speeds and Performances of Pacers and Spinners

Harshal 24 slower balls playing today. Still no Umran and ofcourse Lord Bhuvi plays yet another match.

Harshal, Bhuvi and Arshdeep playing but still no Umran in a low profile match. 

 

Probably it's time to quit watching Indian cricket and just watch the IPL only.

 

No matter who the Captain and Coach are for India,  they just play trundlers.

 

Frankly speaking, missing Csptain Kohli. He had never overloaded the Team with trundlers. Now it looks like Indian pace revolution was due to Kohli only.

Kohli and Shastri played 1 trundler in place of Shami in ODIs snd we got angry when we lost the SF in 2019. 

 

Rohit and Dravid played 2 trundlers in WC  2022 and we got angry when we got thrashed.

 

Now Laxman and Hardik are playing 3 trundlers.  

 

Remove them and the next ones will play 4 trundlers.

Trundlers gave away 44 runs in the first 5 overs with just 1 wicket with the ball swinging.

Bhuvi picks just 1 wicket from 2 matches while bowling 6 of his 7 overs in swing friendly conditions.

 

0 for 35 today.

 

Why is he getting picked ??

Siraj gets the rampaging Phillips with a 145 kph rising short ball. Extra pace and bounce.

Siraj is getting a lot of bounce in this series.

 

Something which was missing from India's attack, barring Pandya, in the WC

No way bhuvi, chahal and harshal are enough to play international, absolutely harmless pie chuckers with zero wicket taking ability, Siraj showing what India missed in the world cup, this is what people meant about arshdeep not having a high ceiling, what's his plan B if no movement around, can hit a hard length consistently?

T20 was supposed to be Siraj's worst format, and he has shown remarkable improvement in last 2-3 years. 
While the swing king has been treated as a third class bowler.

Arshdeep is young and has an advantage of height. He will learn to do that. A 6'3 bowler has tools, only needs to execute it.

Depends on the bowler, his execution, his line, zip, angle, etc. Bumrah, Archer, Nortje got a lot of success with it.

 

In last few years, Russell, Maxwell, Pollard, Pooran struggled because of this weakness. Shows you how the picture is slowly changing.

Siraj showing what wickets can do. 

 

NZ was 130 for 2 and Siraj picked up 3 more wickets .. 4 wickets in all for just 17 runs .. and turned the match around.

 

He hit the deck really hard and got the ball to zip and bounce. And this got the wickets. 

 

No other specialist pacer can do it in this playing 11. 

 

Arshdeep was expensive in his first 3 overs. But could come back in his last over due to the wickets by Siraj and tailenders batting. Picked up 4 wickets too. His bouncer and yorker to pick wickets were good though.

Offcourse it works, how else do you think Mohsin, Sen have been doing well? Siraj goes full and that's when he gets hits around, over the last year or so his LOI bowling as changed dramatically, he did well in the sad series bowling hard lengths, India LOI pitches have changed.

India also has some grounds which are quick and promote true pace and bounce....Mohali, Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, Kolkata are few.
It's the grounds like Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai which promotes these knuckle bowl trundlers to make a merry.

I don't think he will, Shaheen struggles even at, "6'5, Irfan could not prolong his career due to this reason, he came back in 2007 hitting the pitch harder, same with rp Singh who was a lot quicker than arshdeep

Whats even more frustrating is that the result in tonights game is irrelevant as long as India perform well.

 

Meaningless game, he should have played.

One good thing I am seeing in Arshdeep is that he's looking for wickets now, and is not scared of getting hit.
He's young so he will have his off days, but instead of staying away of batters arc he want to challenge them.

He troubled him earlier too..with short balls..it was a great spell from Siraj..

now think if we have some bowlers like Karthik Tyagi in team..on such tracks..
