He got a raw deal, should have played 2020 u19 wc. Instead Dravid picked Vidhyadhar Patil, his own academy bowler.

Vidyadhar Patil is a trundler, how did they selected him ahead of Purnank ?
His pair with Kartik Tyagi would have been deadly, would have blown Bangladesh in Finals.

Only if they have height and bounce like older McGrath. 

 

Don't think any short non bouncy medium pacer has ever done well in Australia over a period of time.

 

And even in England and NZ, there are often 2 or 2.5 days of flatter conditions when extra pace and bounce are needed.

It's speed guns, they are more accurate now. Current pacers are probably quicker.

I think 2002 -2004 Akhtar is the quickest bowler ive ever seen, easily on the speed gun and visually too. Lee around 2003 was also something.

in terms of excitement i dont think ive ever been as excited about anyone as Akhtar from 99 with that old action.

Why Ind team is investing in Chahar and Bhuvi is beyond comprehension, both gets injured after 2/3 series have limited usage and if there are no favouring condition they have no other ways of taking wkts.

 

If they want both of them to serve better give them enough time to recover though I am nt sure they should be in playing 15 unless Ind is playing in Eng.

 

I think Umran looked far better than we all though so, he is able to hold good lines for longer at v.high pace. If he develops some good Yorkers then he would be a different beast.

 

Wood should be good example for Ind fast bowlers, he is working pace even at 30, this is unheard of and that too after elbow injury. Bowling 150+ in test has not been seen for some time now, also since 2019 looks like the collective pace of all the fast bowlers have reduced a bit baring Pak bowlers, they have gained pace but they do not carry same pace in tests. Looks like at the moment they want to concentrate on White-ball cricket.

 

Since the speed-gun era, in my opinion Tait was the fastest, but Akthar and Lee were able to have longitivtiy and able to carry same kind of pace in test. Between Akthar and Lee, Akthar was harder to face because of his action and hyper extension and because he didn't had a stock ball and use to balls all kind of deliveries in the over on the other had Lee had v.good out-swinger and a solid line, so it was not that hard to plan and or guess the line. With Lee he had v.somoth and  textbook action batters were able to plan bit well (just comparatively).  

So we have seen batters flying and ducking against Akthar and not so to Lee. But both were equally quick and with Lee's v.good control at v.high pace he was able to get good batters and had fewer bad days or days where lines were off/lost control.
