Did you guys listen to the Indian commentators on DD1  ?  There are 6 or 7 low profile ones. 

 

1.  All of them gave the impression that Mukesh Kumar is the ultimate talent in pace bowling. They are praising Mukesh even when Siraj was picking wickets or bowling. It is like Mujesh has captured their imagination. 

 

2. One of them said that Unadkat is trying to bowl too quickly and hence not succeeding. He should try to emulate Mukesh and just release the ball gently. He was advising Siraj to do the same. 

 

3.  Bishop was saying something to the effect that India should try to develop Prasidh, Umran and Tyagi as next in line after Bumrah snd Shami.  An Indian commentator said that Mukesh, Unadkat and Kaverappa are being groomed for this purpose and there is no need to worry. Our pace bowling depth is amazing. 

 

4.  Even when Siraj was bowling 140 k to 145 k, they said that he was bowling 135 k / 138 k. 

 

5.  Siraj is their least liked pacer despite his eggsperience. That he tries to bowl with effort was irking most of them. 

 

In a nutshell, in their minds, pacers who gently relesse the ball without effort, and bowl floaty channel balls  ( even if no swing is available ) is the ideal pacer in their minds. 

 

And their opinions carry meaning because these are the people who become selectors at national and state levels.

Good bowling from Naseem and Shaheen this morning on a flat pitch. 
Naseem has hit 90mph and bowled consistent pace too. Shaheen impeccable with his lines.

This was not the case in the 2018 to mid 2022 period with Bumrah leading the pace attack and Kohli snd Arun in charge till 2021.

Absolutely corect bro. Kohli - Shastri - Arun combo was the best thing to happen to Indian fast bowling. Even Siraj's credit should go to them. This team management wanted quick bowlers and no doubt they put it across to the selectors and they got the bowlers they wanted. Current team management is happy with trundlers who are top performers in Ranji but we all know what happens to these legends when they bowl in international cricket. Seen it too many times. Sad state of affairs.

I am checking the deodhar trophy scores,not one quick pacer in any of the teams.harshit and hamgrekar are quicker than all these guys,and none of these batsmen would have been able to stand up to the pakistani bowlers and chased down 350 either.

Blame the "select trundler first" policy of our selectors.

 

350 isn't chased every now and then. Indian openers batted well to begin the chase. Abhishek played a good knock despite the challenging situation.

Umesh Yadav bowled 10 years of his career in 140's, only from last 1-2 years he has slowed down due to his age, Bumrah and Shami bowls quick right throughout the day....Nagarkoti was hitting 149 at age of 18 where Shaheen was trundling at 130's..likes of Naseem, Aamir and Shaheen trundle in Tests from late 120's to mid 130's because their aren't fit and run out of breath while bowling more than 4 overs in spell. Shami was able to sustain his pace even though bowling 20 plus overs.

 

Neeraj Chopra has the strength and athleticism to win gold medal in Olympics beating all the so call gora firangis and Pakistani's at an age of 23...they all could do nothing in front of him but to succumb to his power and technique. 

 

Sports if anything is still a leisure, there are certain socio political factors due to which we are not producing as athletes as we can. I can talk about this for hours but that's a discussion for some other forum.

India is a massive country,so we will find  odd guys who can bowl close to 140,but it's a lot harder to find such bowlers in india than elsewhere.
