Every opponent waits for one easy kind of bowler, but that's how you create fear that all our bowlers are 145kph and have different kind of skills. And we showed how to fight when we toured overseas. Earlier we used to be on the safe side or our pace attack wasn't that aggressive. Siraj is light years behind Bumrah. Siraj on his good days is exceptional in utilizing the overcast conditions to swing the ball. He works well as a third wheel if he has to bowl alongside Bumrah & Shami. As Shami was injured, he jumped up the ladder and became second choice pacer after Bumrah, coz we literally have no replacement. express bowling 1

tapandrun Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Former Ind cricketer supporting current Ind player is not a new thing this has been happening so a longtime. Sometimes its empathy, sometimes its just they are good mates and some times its social media thing, no one knows if they say anything that could cause Sm backslash. Simon Doull mentioned about low sr of kolhi whie setting up the targets/batting 1st. No one can mention about how dhoni was not that good a t20is batter with below 120 SR most of his career, same thing for pant and KL rahul no1 can talk honestly about it for 1 reason or the other.

It's decline a lot now. Not enough deliveries in the 135 + range. Bhumrah had 2 injuries from back then, before 1st back injury he was able to bowl few balls ~150 kmph when in rhythm in test. After that he was not able to do that, after second injury he reduced his pace and it seems some of it was natural and some of it because he is trying to add swing bowling skills too, previously he was pure seamer. Recently he has been trying to bowl consistently 140+kmph in test (not saying he is trying to bowl quicker overall but trying to get his grouping close to 140+kmph) as the result he is seem bowling a few more balls in 145+kmph. Siraj has been decline v.rapidly, he can not be no.2 bowler, needs to be dropped/rested Edited October 22, 2024 by tapandrun

Rohit Dravid tenure was the most disastrous one as team never improved and bench strength was non existent. Only 1 new player was introduced in Jaiswal. tapandrun Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 (edited) Things have not changed even now, TM and selectors are still selecting Saini and Mukesh kumar for Aus -A tour. These shadow tours are no longer serving the purpose, these A tours should have been used to infuse some high potential players rather than some 30 + yo bowlers who have already seen better days or are just 1 injury away from retirements. Should have selected some new quick bowlers over these bowlers, these tours are no longer look like development tours but some way to accomodate certain players. Ind -A fast bowlers for Aus tour --Mukesh, Saini, Dayal and Khaleel. Acc- Ind Emerging --Kamboj,Dar, Arora, Aaqib Who in these are high potential Ind prospect ??? Arora --May be but can only be the 3/4 bowler Kamboj-- Think he would come into Ind side, he is kind of bowler who is liked in Ind cricketing system Dayal--May be but not a high potential bowler Saini, Khaleel -- Tried tested and rejected by now ...?? Mukesh -- Ind had to bring Akash deep outside of the team to play the test inplace of him and Mukesh has not looked looked like an intnl material in whatever test he has player, T20is sure play him do not want Bhumrah/Shami to play meaningless t20i cups as Ind is already low on fast bowling stock. Dar -- Do not think he is intnl quality but sure try him in t20is if he can bat but his bowing will be thrashed against a good batting side , he does not have bouncer , yorkers, all he bowls are few swinger and some back of the hand slower-ones Aaqib--how did he leap-forged so many bowlers ??? he looked like asub 135 kmph bowler Edited October 22, 2024 by tapandrun Mosher 1

It's decline a lot now. Not enough deliveries in the 135 + range. Good article. Some quality points are discussed about Siraj. He has lost the pace and earlier he used to bowl 135-145 kph..now he is more in 128-138kph territory. The slower a bowler becomes, the more ineffective his reverse will be. That's why most trundlers who are serviceable in the shorter formats can't survive in the longest format. As reverse swing plays a key role in the Indian conditions for a fast bowler. Siraj is a borderline trundler now. Nikhil_cric, Lone Wolf, express bowling and 1 other 4

Khaleel -> Skilled but lazy fellow. Don't have motivation. Rasikh -> A variation/gimmicky bowler, may work initially but then will be exposed. Aaqib -> Mukesh Kumar lite. tapandrun and Lone Wolf 2
