Deliberate -- Yes, this is how Ind bowling has been how they see pace bowling, right arm/ left arm nothing kind of bowlers and if they find some1 with some venom they will bowl him to the ground. Srinath, Bhumrah, Shami all are example of this.

 

Captains like pacers who gives false impression of control and then they deploy spinner in Ind condition and control the innings, that why Ind produced bowlers like Bhuvi /Deepak who were good in PP and then you try to hide them. There was a hope they will give you initial wkts and then controlling the innings with spin.

 

Which works in Ind and bi-lateral series and blows-out in Icc/multiteam events.

Some bowlers were smart where they would bowl fast in 1st couple of seasons when they had a certainty in the team they dropped the pace - Zak and many others.

 

There was no interset in developing umesh until Kolhi took over which is same with Umran and some other high pace bowlers.

As a tm and captain high pace bowlers needs development time under 1-2 senior bowlers, no Ind captain is ready to do that, same with legspinner why Ind never had a big spinning leggi ??

 

When Ind experts (as neutral) are asked what kind of bowlers are suited to win tests in SENA they would say fast and tall but when it comes to asking for Ind bowlers they chose for these so called line-length bowlers

Bumrah ....  147 kph .. atleast 2 balls

Prasidh ....  146 kph .. atleast 2 balls

Siraj ....         146 kph

Akash ....     143 kph

Siraj should try to bowl the outswinger a lot more after yesterday. Most of our pacers keep targeting stumps and its becoming one dimensional at times

cant beleive that Prasidh and siraj both bowled so acccurately and fastish too..i think they bowled 132 to 144k continutously and some yorkers and bouncers were jaffa's

Prasidh Krishna's economy may be high, but he is the only bowler with the highest % of false shots drawn by the batters. He has induced (28.70%) false shots, Mohammad Siraj (26.8), Jasprit Bumrah (24.4), and Akashdeep(23.1).

Think these stats are meaningless, control %, false shot % and many other once you do not find gaps and score runs and bowl 1-2 bad ball every over.

 

Some 1 good at leaving the ball and not scoring will always have good control % to some1 trying to score runs, an accurate or may be insiwing bowler will always have lower false shot because they are targeting stumps and batter will defend them and if that misses it either wkts or lbw.

is it because he bowls in that short of good length area.. made infamous by unlucky bowlers like Ishant in his early tours and Shami ( in 2014/18) ?

I think it is because Prasidh gets more bounce than is expected from his height.

Naah, it's just because he is mostly brainless and doesnt know how to convert into wickets. just lacks the killer instinct. These stats mean nothing, unless and until they result in wickets.

Could be a play and miss or inside edge or top edge or outside edge or ball hitting the splice of the bat and lobbing up.

 

Whether false shot % means anything or not I don't know, but Prasidh has actually taken 22 wickets from 6 tests at a SR of just 43.6 ... 29 wickets from just 17 ODIs and 8 wickets from 5 T20Is. 

 

So he is a genuine wicket taker.

 

Problem has been that he leaks too many runs while achieving this. 

 

He lacks sufficient match practice and hence needs to play FC cricket and List A cricket regularly.

Pradish is not that tall as people think he is he is around 6.2/.3 max. but he has high release for his height, so he does not naturally hitting the discomforting length to the batters.

So unless he bowls a particular pace bracket he will be bowling those chest high bouncers with no venom which batters like -- the balls he started d5t5.

 

Even the status shred above would be reflective of him when he bowls 140+ near 145 kmph., if he bowls there he is a wkt taker showed in the IPL this test series as soon as he stars hitting those high paces and bowls at discomforting height he gets with then his fuller-one becomes the threat getting him bowled.

 

And again when his pace goes down its just rubbish, is he prepared to bowl fast and sustain the pace?? 

 

Rest of those stats and analytics is just non-sense used by sites just to give colourful ui and make it look more user friendly and give. The real stat and analytics are still avg. and sr rest is still auxiliary and a lot of factors impacing those analytics

Does he really want to play test cricket with 100% fitness and intent for a long career? If the wickets he got in the 5th test doesn't inspire him nothing will.
