Almost message like mafia don to his rivals, go on just try and take me on. He probably sent a shiver down the his team mates as he is so powerful they all petrified ( no doubt massive contributor to strange dynamics of team and pathetic team spirit) of him. He is not going anywhere and the message was loud and clear in that press conference. Chilling stuff!

When Tendulkar was not scoring runs, he would lift his game to the players who were, when Dravid was struggling he would pull it back towards the second half of the series. Not taking any credit away from them, but a lot of it is inspired by the leadership. On previous away tours, we saw the system motivating the laggards to catch up with the leaders. On this tour, it was the other way round with Vijay and Rahane going the Pujara and Kohli way, rather than the other way round. As for Dhoni, when you bat in the top 6 you have to be compared with specialist batsmen. Not that his keeping is any saving grace.

The most troublesome part for me is that both of these last two tests were alive and the team played like they had already lost the series 3-0. Even then one plays for one's pride. But generally after being down 3-0 it's very hard to get up and start performing. After losing a test in Southampton these guys played like they didn't give a fig anymore. At OT on the third day there was a definite chance of the match getting washed out on day 4 and 5 and they only needed to bat out that day in good batting conditions. I am not ready to think that these guys are not good enough to bat out 50 overs repeatedly. There is definitely a problem deeper than technique.

You show respect to someone who deserves it. No. 1 ranking and WC2011 was ages back. And it is not like he is some poor struggling soul. Fecker is a multi-millionaire and immense power in Indian cricket.

He performed well from a personal stand point this series.......but his leadership was non-existent....which is one of his most important duties......... As Dravid has eluded in the past, the man is very stubborn and tends to withdraw into a shell when the going gets tough........he repeats the same tactical blunders repeatedly and when they fail him, he often resorts to silly gully cricket shenanigans....... Failure to motivate his team (yes his team, the team that he wanted......with young, athletic players) is a clear indication for him to resign..........won't happen though.......

He is teams most experienced batsman and on his third tour and 349 runs at 34 which is lower than his career average with his shoddy keeping is nothing to write home about.

Relatively speaking.......he didn't do too bad.......we all know he is an average test batsman......
