Virat Kohli-- despite poor form lynch pin Rahane-- Cant convert starts and problem with shifting gears. Classier version of DK as of now. Raina-- Despite todays innings major doubts overseas. Poor record in Aus MSD-- Proven performer and finisher Jadeja- major doubts for me with the bat overseas. Deserves places as spinner Ashwin- major doubts he will be good enough with ball in Aus Bhuvi-- deserves spot for bowling fielding and batting skills Shami- expensive but deserves spot for wicket taking ability as of now Mohit-- run of the mill trundler. Nothing special. India have better options Umesh-- Can be erratic but better option than Mohit IMO Aaron-- Deserves a spot in starting line up Binny-- Am i the only one who thinks he might work in the ODIs at 8? Rayadu- too slow. A slower version of Rahane without the classy shots Kulkarni- India are covered in his department, wont pass judgement till he makes a debut Samson- again wont pass judgement till he gets a run of games

DK certainly is a very good batsman, has range of shots, good technique as well, but lacked the temperament. He did not perform when needed to save his spot.

Honestly Rahane is a far far greater batsman than DK ever has been..

If he somehow manages to construct an innings he would promptly throw it away after he reaches 50 or 60. Could have been a regular considering he made debut before Dhoni. He doesn't have to care about international cricket anyway thanks to Delhi Dhakkans :cantstop:
Silva Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I think this will basically be the starting 11 at the world cup except Ishant will play for Mohit. Binny might replace ashwin or jadeja. I can't see rayudu playing with Rahane in the squad. Sampson might get in ahead of dhawan or rahane but I doubt it. Dhoni doesn't really like to experiment. Which is why Pandey never got game and I don't think we ever played a game with 4 specialist fast bowlers which could be a good tactic in Australia.

We can have JAdeja as a reserve fielder and kaptaan kool still gives part timers more overs Shami comes now and gets a wicket. If we had our pacers on, England would have been all out half an hour ago.
