maniac Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Not too many ICFR's including the haters will disagree when I say when Ishant is in rythm,he is the most exciting fast bowler to watch.....His action is one of the best there is and he almost looks like taking a wicket every ball
Lord Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Not too many ICFR's including the haters will disagree when I say when Ishant is in rythm' date='he is the most exciting fast bowler to watch.....His action is one of the best there is and he almost looks like taking a wicket every ball[/quote'] when did such an even occur last time in ODIs?:hmmm:
BeautifulGame Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Having Ishant type option in Aus pitches is not exactly a bad. But he is highly unreliable to play in a world cup knock out IMO . Probably should have tried similar ones like Ishwar
fineleg Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Not too many ICFR's including the haters will disagree when I say when Ishant is in rythm' date='he is the most exciting fast bowler to watch.[/size']....His action is one of the best there is and he almost looks like taking a wicket every ball The kind of spells he bowled to Ponting is rare! (very rare for Ishant). and that was in tests. For ODIs - how many times has he looked lethal? More like James Faulked!
bowl_out Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Nah Umesh will play Dhoni loves status quo No.. Dhoni loves playing his favorites...Rohit, Ishant, Jaddu, Raina, Bhuvi will always find a place in Dhoni's team
BeautifulGame Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 No.. Dhoni loves playing his favorites...Rohit' date=' Ishant, Jaddu, Raina, Bhuvi will always find a place in Dhoni's team[/quote'] Yeah sure he does. Yadav will play tomorrow. Same reason Eahane played ahead of Raina in the Aus test .

More like James Faulked! Check his last few performances...He was also our best ODI bowler before that Faulkner assault on a flattest patta. His ODI average is more than decent for a Indian ODI fast bowler
JaFanatic Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Check his last few performances...He was also our best ODI bowler before that Faulkner assault on a flattest patta. His ODI average is more than decent for a Indian ODI fast bowler Ishu and Agarkar have the best sr in ODIs for India :hatsoff::hatsoff: haters :finger::bumsmack:
JaFanatic Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Nah Umesh will play Dhoni loves status quo Knowing Dhoni's confidence on Yadav there is a good chance of Ishant playing tomo lets wait and see
vamos_rafa Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 What wrong have Aaron and Yadav done to be not picked at all?
JaFanatic Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 What wrong have Aaron and Yadav done to be not picked at all? Apparently its their lack of control and being expensive but still umesh is our best bet for tests and aaron should be one of our three quickies in ODIs but our selectors captain kewl and management have different ideas

Insidious Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Ishant is terrific on bouncy tracks even in ODIs but terrible in low and slow tracks. For instance he was terrific in 2nd semifinal vs srilanka in CT-2013. That pitch had some bounce and He Bowled some unplayable deliveries. 11.6 I Sharma to Thirimanne, no run, nearly nibbled that one to the keeper, back of a length and outside off, Thirimanne looking to push it through the off side and is beaten, good start from Ishant 13.1 I Sharma to Thirimanne, no run, Thirimanne stuck on the crease and looking to work a length ball away to the leg side but that ball from Ishant curves away after pitching and Thirimanne is beaten 15.1 I Sharma to Thirimanne, no run, Ishant continues to get the ball to rear up, that was a back of a length ball, Thirimanne plays it from the crease, well controlled defence, though that ball hit high on the bat 15.2 I Sharma to Thirimanne, OUT, another catch for Raina at second slip, a far tougher chance than the one to dismiss Perera, Ishant gets the ball to seam away from back of a length, Thirimanne follows the ball and pokes at it, the ball zips through low to Raina's right, Raina reacts quickly to take a sharp catch, India get the wicket they were searching for 15.6 I Sharma to Jayawardene, no run, beauty from Ishant, gets that one to seam away after pitching, Jaywardene hangs his bat outside off, and is beaten, lucky to not edge that one 17.4 I Sharma to Jayawardene, 1 run, Mahela is squared up by that one, so nearly dismissed there, luckily for him the ball flies wide of the slips, Mahela was expected that to come in with the angle and was trying to defend to the leg side, a leading edge as the ball holds its line 17.5 I Sharma to Sangakkara, no run, again the batsman can't control the ball, the ball loops to the right of the bowler as Sangakkara looks to defend 17.6 I Sharma to Sangakkara, OUT, another catch at second slip, Raina it is again, pouches another left-hander, Ishant got the delivery to jag away sharply, Sangakkara has left so many deliveries like this one today, but is sucked into playing at it and he nicks it through, Sri Lanka in serious trouble now, how good a toss was this to win? This is the match I am talking about- http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-champions-trophy-2013/engine/match/566947.html And Then in south Africa where all our bowlers looked clueless, most of the times- And then in the 3rd Odi at centurion, in south Africa, where all our bowlers looked clueless. He was the one who looked really effective- 7.1 I Sharma to Davids, OUT, And Ishant has struck! Davids fails to make use of this opportunity, he comes forward to a length ball outside off, looks to defend but gets an outside edge to second slip, Raina does well to move to his left and take it on the fall 7.3 I Sharma to Duminy, no run, that was a jaffa! Ishant bowls a beauty outside off, forced Duminy to play at it and the ball just moved away and nearly took the edge, good carry too 7.4 I Sharma to Duminy, OUT, two for the over and Ishant really does look a different bowler here! Duminy was squared up the previous ball and this time he was on the back foot to defend, didn't cover the line properly at all and the ball moved away and took the outside edge to second slip, Raina in business again and he times his dive forward well, takes it inches off the turf 7.5 I Sharma to de Villiers, no run, 136 kph, Ishant foxes him with extra bounce, AB gets a wake up call, hops at the crease and fends it off the glove, did well to keep it down http://www.espncricinfo.com/south-africa-v-india-2013-14/engine/match/648655.html Took 4/40 in that match, where others gone for plenty. So for him key is bounce. So he can be great prospect for us in World cup, in those hard bouncy surface. But will get smashed around in these subcontinental wickets.
rkt.india Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Fantastic choice :nice: About time selectors realise that he is our best allround fast bowler and spearhead.....I agree he should not play every ODI and T20 but he should be used like Steyn and Johnson, playing only the important games and once in a while the odd ODI or T20 to get into rythm.....He should play every test. Can see the sarcasm when you compared him to Steyn and Johnson. :nice: sense of humor
rkt.india Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 The kind of spells he bowled to Ponting is rare! (very rare for Ishant). and that was in tests. For ODIs - how many times has he looked lethal? More like James Faulked! CB series 2008 but that was a different Ishant who had good seam position, pace into mid 140s.
kumar713 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Some good seamers not getting their chances:facepalm:
