How do ppl justify yuseless hitting someone?? What next? Hubby can hit wife if she said something horrible?? Words are words - you can retort or take other allowed action. You cannot just use physical force or beat someone. There is something called Law of the Land - whether you are a hubby, wife or spectator or player. If everyone administers "justice" by beating a person - chaos!

i never said his action were justified, you attribute the outburst to him being 'drunk on money' i am counting that point. Its easy to preach to stay calm but try practicing it when people are abusive, wishing you and your family were dead.

Yusuf Pathan allegedly slaps jeering spectator in Ranji Trophy game http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/67587/yusuf-pathan-allegedly-slaps-jeering-spectator-in-ranji-trophy-game India discard, Yusuf Pathan, allegedly reacted to rude remarks by a young spectator and slapped him during a Ranji Trophy match played between Baroda and Jammu and Kashmir. The Baroda all-rounder was upset by the remarks passed by the young spectator when he was batting at the Reliance Cricket Stadium, where the hosts were playing Jammu and Kashmir. According to Snehal Parikh, Secretary of Baroda Cricket Association (BCA), the spectator had been making rude remarks against Yusuf as well as other players.

"This youngster had been shouting and passing indecent comments against Yusuf and other players such as Ambati Rayudu, when they were batting. Yusuf was in no mood to tolerate such a behaviour. Thus, after he got out, he called that youngster inside the dressing room and allegedly slapped him twice," said Parikh.
According to Parikh, when Yusuf's younger brother and cricketer, Irfan Pathan, learnt about the incident, he rushed to the dressing room to bring the situation under control. As per another BCA Secretary Anshuman Gaekwad, the matter was 'amicably resolved' after a family member of the youth came and apologised on his behalf. Parikh on his part, claimed that the match referee will send a report about today's incident to BCCI for further action.

Hitting a spectator is inexcusable. We have all played competitive cricket somewhere or another and experienced some kind of heckling. It takes a few minutes to disarm someone like that or get the majority of the crowd on your side. Talking with them about the game or a smile or a thumb-up usually does the trick. The IPL fakes that think they are better then the crowd will never get on the good side of the crowd.

Effect of getting drunk (not literally, but drunk with money) with too much IPL moolah than he can handle, and allowing it to get to his head? Yusuf err, Yuseless cricketer. The crowds should jeer him more, hound him wherever he plays, and throw more gaalis at him after this incident.
Classy post. Justifying jeering/abusing of cricketers.

No one is justifying the spectators. They should be given appropriate punishment/reprimand. But that doesnt mean he can behave like a waterbuffalo and use physical force

What is with the use of 'India Discard' by reporters these days? How can they write such things. Only 15 players are in the team...rest all are India discards? Bloody @#$%^^ At least these 'discards' were good enough to play for the country...unlike the sh*t bitter reporter who can't find a decent word for someone who is not currently in the Team. As for the stupid fan....He should have been made to stand in a corner and the whole team should have verbally abused him and his family and sent him back. Don't blame him for slapping (not a fan of Pathan bros.) .....although he should have filed a police complaint for obscene comments.

In india, the guy with teh car will be blamed no matter whose mistake it is.....when you get into an accident ..... The guy with the bike gets all the sympathy....
