On a Lahli pitch so green it was difficult to differentiate from the outfield, a brisk, unbeaten century from Virender Sehwag ensured Delhi ended day one on a very commendable total after a top-order wobble. Sehwag - who passed fifty for the third successive time in this tournament - and Rajat Bhatia battled it out and made it to lunch. They carried on after the break too, with Sehwag showing caution when necessary, but unafraid to hit the lofted shot down the ground when the opportunity presented itself. Saw his brutal hitting after a long long time :sniffle:

rkt.india Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Yeah pitch is grassy but is dry, already several hames played here this season. It helped for seamers for first 2 hours and after that was a good batting pitch. Pitch also is slowish and lacks bounce. Sehwag also batted well, rarely looked in trouble. By the time he came, swing had almost gone.

Mystique_Myth Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 LOL... it was a slow pitch and there was very little seam moment... and no way Sehwag reflexes are good as Rohit or Dhawan... they just struggle against swing/seam.. we all know the pitches are gonna be flat this world cup.. but will be fast and have bounce which Sehwag sure cannot handle...

vvvslaxman Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Sehwag's offstump play has gotten worse. He may not have lost the ability of laying attacks to waste. But he certainly has given enough indication that he has atleast lost 50% reiability.
