FlickedOffHips Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 some people just make good coaches and others don't. Sachin mastered his craft but he strikes me as a guy who doesn't have the right qualities to manage others. He wasn't successful as a captain of India(although you could blame all 11 players). I just find that good captains have the right sort of leadership qualities which make a good Head Coach. What do you think? Also answer the poll.
mishra Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 ^ No. He can be technical batting coach. in his biography, Its so easy to findout how easily he used to pick ooponent bowlers, plan and work against them. But should be kept out of team strategies
tweaker Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 He would not be a good coach.Instead Amre can be a good coach
Forever Indian Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 We can already see the head coach's effect on Mumbai Indians - Hardik at no.3 and Bajji at no. 5 :haha:
Laaloo Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 yes please anyone over the two clowns we have now in dhoni and fletcher
Invasion 550 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 yes please anyone over the two clowns we have now in dhoni and fletcher Please dont disrespect dhoni. He is a legend.
Marut Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 No. He was a poor captain and will be a poor coach. He can be the batting coach however.
sensible-indian Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Seems like a unanimous decision as of now. NO. He could be a technical batting coach but apart from that, he shouldn't be given any other role.
JourneyMan Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 The exceptionally talented rarely make good coaches - my theory would be that this is because you can't really translate or teach exceptional talent. Either you have it your do don't. The training and strategy that the average player needs should be based on average player abilities rather than 1-in-a-million talent.
nevada Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 No. A mentor maybe to give short pep talks and provide inspiration.
G_B_ Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 no. he can be an excellent batting coach. But poor man management and tactical skills
Laaloo Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I guess if we want a muppet as a captain, we can always hire Dravid as a coach. The guy would never say a word against anyone.
gattaca Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I guess if we want a muppet as a captain' date=' we can always hire Dravid as a coach. The guy would never say a word against anyone.[/quote'] This is so true. Dravid is yes man.
vvvslaxman Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Sachin a great cricketer. But never a good tactician.
vvvslaxman Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 no. he can be an excellent batting coach. But poor man management and tactical skills +100
Texan Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Only if you want to amass individual records in cricket and not much in the form of team achievements.
vamos_rafa Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Lol at people saying Sachin was and will be a poor tactician. His understanding of the game is more than the combined population of whole of Europe. Where he lacks is leadership skills. So, he can be a mentor plus technical consultant(sounds more like an IT designation)
