vvvslaxman Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 We have sloggers against spin. How many we have against pacers?
vvvslaxman Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Jadeja is good against pacers lol Weak against bouncers, weak against length balls outside the off stump, weak against full pitched ball at his feet, Weak against any hint of swing.. Otherwise he is fine :cantstop:
express bowling Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 This is a very important issue Among young players... Samson and Negi have potential. Among established players... Dhoni can be good on his day. Raina can slog pacers during end overs if he is playing subcontinent ODIs.
vvvslaxman Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Current line up can easily be stifled by good aggressive pace bowling. This Pandya looks good against full balls. CLean hitting. Surya Kumar Yadav one trick pony against pace.
express bowling Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Iyer can hit cleanly too. Hooda maybe. Iyer is a top order batsman. This thread is about lower order sloggers against pace.
sensible-indian Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Why do we never get aggressive batting allrounders like Bravo, Andre Russell, etc when WI can manufacture them with ease?

Even mishits of pollard goes way beyond the boundary. Just compare the INdian gene players in Windies with these guys.Bunderchaul, Ramnaresh saravanan, Dinesh Ramdin.. none of these guys are power hitters.

vvvslaxman Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Intentional or typo? :cantstop: Intentional.. cannot possibly be a typo :cantstop:

maniac Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Again Lower Order hitting in IPL is not a criteria to judge the ability of a player. Look at Axar Patel....he has so far found out to be a hack in internationals/ You cannot rely on SKY and slot him in the team based on IPL...no way....the guy doesn't belong. Iyer,Samson on the other hand maybe....Sandeep Sharma-YES....3 guys who need to be eased into international cricket from this IPL.
rkt.india Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 So frustrating to see we can't even produce a Dwayne Smith style allrounder. Genetics. They are naturally strong hitters.
diga Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Very few hitters succeed consistently.. I will be happy if we get one who succeeds 6 out of 10 times

Dhoni, Yuvraj, Kapil, Sandeep Patil, Atul Bedade, Saurav Tiwary etc. are/ were very powerful hitters. Among top order batsmen ...Tendulkar, Kambli, Kohli, Vijay etc. are/were reasonably hard hitters too.
