Murder 2 is actually a copy of the Korean film - The Chaser EkqczsLZd1I

I have read it online' date=' It was inspired by Chaser and Silence of the lambs.[/quote'] Inspired is too soft a word to use here. Murder 2 is almost a frame to frame copy of the Chaser with Indian touches .... A connection to Silence of the Lambs is possible only if a cop trying to catch a serial killer angle is considered (and that connection is can be drawn for many such films of this genre) :P

Pre-Sholay: Mughal-E-Azam Teesri Kasam Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam Pyaasa Ganga Jamuna Bandini Naya Daur Mother India Anand Deewar
Awaara (50s) to Sholay (mid-70s) is undoubtedly the golden age of Bollywood

In terms of original concept- Lagaan,Satya,Mother India,Andaaz Apna Apna,Deewar,Mughal-E-Azam,Shree 420,Guide,Prahaar,DDLJ. Honble mentions-Ardh Satya,Aawara,Mera Naam Joker,Saaransh,Golmaal(old one),Baawarchi,Abhimaan My Criteria-I am not going to rate Sholay,Jane Bhi do Yaaron etc even though they are my personal favorites because they are inspired by Hollywood movies-maybe not entirely but still I only rate movies where concepts apart from execution are developed here as well. SImilarly there are some remakes by likes of Star South Indian filmakers like K.Vishwanath,K.Balachander etc which even though were quality cinema don't qualify. Also don't count movies inspired by western fiction such as Omkaara or even Angoor which is my all time fav comedy So my top 10 is solely based on conceptualized and executes solely in Bollywood or Hindi film industry

FYI - Laagan is inspired by Naya Daur (changed the villain to British, the race to a cricket match), Mother India by Good Earth, Andaz Apna Apna - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and so on .... it is hard to find a truly original Bollywood movie as even some sequences would have been taken from somewhere, or ideas from two or three movies would have been combined to make one film :P 5c42f3021640ae63b5436e6663d9b626_ls_t.jpgThe-Good-Earth-film.jpgdirty_rotten_scoundrels.jpg

I don't think we can relate Naya Daur and Lagaan, if we are going to judge originality on this basis then Titanic can be related to any 60's or 70's Bollywood movie since a poor guy falls in love with rich girl was really a very common theme.

If the Bus co wins, the tongawallas will have to give up their livelihood. If tongawallah wins, Bus co. had to move business elsewhere. Very similar story.

AAA has nothing to do with DirtyRS. Khel was more inspired from DRS' date='[/quote'] My memory can be sketchy, but isn't AAA about Amir and Salman trying to get the rich girl and playing tricks on each other to get better of the other? I am not saying it is a frame to frame copy but AAA is definitely does not appear to be a totally original work as claimed in one of the posts.

It is also available in color now :two_thumbs_up:
