zen Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 People blame Mohit sharma completely forgetting the fact that he had a very good world cup. ICF wanted Umesh and varun in the squad and all they have done is leak runs. That was in Australia and Umesh did well too in the WC BK, Kulkarni, Mohit, and Binny - why would you keep so many trundlers in the squad? In the absence of Shami, could have given Aaron a chance. He may go for runs but also gives the captain an opportunity to go for wkts, esp. when the team scores less than 280. With such trundlers, most teams will knock these runs in such conditions .... Also having a left-arm seamer such as Nehra could have been a good option .... It is as if fast bowlers are not encouraged Axar and Jadeja - why not have a leg spinner in the squad instead of two left arm slow bowlers? The squad selected is such that if the batting does not click, it is curtains .... and that probably puts more pressure on the batsmen
riya Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Oh oh thats so sad..so no captaincy for the ''passionate defender of freehit''.
Texy Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Why is anyone surprised? NO one has the balls to bring Dhoni down. He's too powerful. He'll leave on his own terms, which means more suffering for ICF.
Desi Cartman Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 It's been happening for a very long time. Players like Steve Waugh were forced to leave at a time when they were not doing too badly and as a result no one in the Aussie side takes their spot for granted. There must be constant competition for each spot if a team has to continuously improve. In sub-continent it doesnt work that way and that's the reason Lanka, India and Pakistan struggle so much. Its all about respect, experienced players dont want to be dropped as they think it's insulting and they have nothing to prove. This was more prevalent in pakistan in the 90s but I think India has been suffering from it for the last few years as well.
rkt.india Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 A captain cant be sacked after 2 consecutive overseas white washes, a captain cant be sacked after not winning a single ODI on overseas tours in SA, NZ, and Aus. Can still understand losing to those teams, but a captain cannot be sacked even after losing an ODI series to Bangladesh. This is becoming a phenomena. Now, Dhoni has set an example for the lowest point of not being sacked.
tweaker Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Dhoni cannot be sacked,he will walk away whenever he wants, now he is enjoying his cricket
renjith Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Not a bad decision in my opinion. If we changed captains for each series defeats almost all teams members would have tasted captaincy in last 2 years. This could be a historic series win for bangladesh. But as far as india is considered, its a not so important bilateral series against a minnow team. The body language of indian players really lacked any inspiration. Its understandable as well. After lots of very tough assignments against sa, eng and aus and then followed by wc, who will have some inspiration to fight hard against bangladesh. We should not be giving more importance to this series defeat.
yoda Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Now that Sreeni is gone, wonder who is shielding Dhoni?
asterix Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 T20 WC? Dhoni shouldn't be in the T20 team... Uthappa or Sanju Samson should be the WK. Kohli/Nohit should be captain/VC... :hitler: Dhoni should've some shame...he'll be like a Grand Pa in the team...
Lannister Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 No surprises there. What can you expect from BCCI, which is full of crooks.
asterix Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Dhobi can stay as captain of ODI team for as long he wishes to screw up India's international and bilateral series... But that doesn't mean should be allowed to screw up another T20 campaign... Don't want another T20 team full of his pet CSK players and his same old captaincy...
vishalvirsingh Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 why should Dhoni be sacked now as a Captain. reasons- Dhoni is biased ( supports jaddu and his csk players more than required). Dhoni's batting seems to be getting affected due to captaincy. Dhoni looks like a symbol of a man who is deprived of energy and creativity. Positivity and optimism is Less and is not able to bind the team together. Dhoni supports trundlers and Spinner's too much- these trundlers and Spinner will fetch some returns on indian pitches, Lankan and bangla pitches every where else fast bowlers are better. even on Asian tracks - most successful captain believe fast bowlers are a better bet then trundlers and even spinners. Dhoni supports spinners so much that even spinner who is not in form like jaddu gets a lot of support. if a BINNY who was so successful against Bangla does not get a game- what do u tell Binny..?? I believe Binny wud be excited to perform out of his skin against bangla. if his player is tired - why is he played???
Lannister Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I wish Bangla gives one more ass whooping to Dhoni and co.
adi B Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I am fine with Dhoni the batsman/wktkeper in odis but He cant/wont play under anyone else, his ego and arrogance is too big .so all in all he should retire and Indian team should move on keeping 2019 wc in mind,Dhoni aint gonna play till then either way
