The crowd was amazing today ,they were vocal and raised the tempo of the team whenever there was a chance to make a comeback into the match, the atmosphere was electric!!

God I missed the home matches for over a year ,last time I witnessed such a vocal and supportive crowd was in the delhi odi (I was lucky to have attended that game) vs windies last year ,another match in which we were in a do or die situation and defended a meagre total with the crowd going nuts with the bottle tune (banging the bottle by their palms).

By the way what's with the mobile phone torches on display today?

I personally find it disconcerting if the crowd starts throwing its weight behind the visiting side - like it so frequently happens in england with the asian populace. But that is not what happened at kanpur. I can also understand the crowd getting cynical with the mindless captaincy and team decisions that our adamant skipper is ever so prone to taking. But that is not what happened at Kanpur so yeah great to watch.

Could not agree more. I never understood this concept of appreciating the opposition. If I am going to a cricket match then I would like my team to absolutely thrash the opposition. I hate to see the opposition players play well against my team. How can you appreciate something that is against what I support :idunno:

Us Yorkshire supporters have a terrible reputation in county cricket for not acknowledging good play by the opposition. I think that's unfair as we appreciate good play and applaud opposition milestones, but we're not going to applaud every good shot by the opposition like other counties' spectators.

They also think we applaud our own team too much, which I think is absolute rubbish. How can you show "too much support" for your team. Our players appreciate playing for the best supporters in county cricket anyway
