have u seen parthiv's keeping recently....if so...where and how?

he made into Indian ODI side briefly few years back and he was not special with bat nor with keeping......he is one of the guy who can be domestic prolific run- getter but never can be intl class ..... he should be no way near Indian side

I saw parthiv recently in domestic cricket and he misses regulation chances.

BTW its not only India. Every test side is facing the same problem.Not even a single world class keeper in sight.

Chandimal is doing well and Taylor seems good.But will have to wait and watch.

Aditya Tare looks good as a keeper as well as no 5 batsman for india.

In test matches, first and foremost, we need a good keeper. Since we are playing with 5 specialist batsmen, we need a proper no.6 batsman who is either a good keeper or can play as the 5th bowler.

 

If we take someone like Pandya at no.6 then I am ok with Saha at 7.

 

If Pandya is not ready to play internationals yet then Saha looks a bit weak at no.6 and, till the time we get a good keeper-batsman, Naman might be a better bet at no.6.

 

Both Saha and Naman are good keepers.

Every test u cannot have such threads. Saha batted well in srilanka. You got to give atleast some time and then move on.

I lold. You want someone that just "brushed up" their keeping skills to keep wickets for Indian test side? So that he can give you 10-20 runs more average with the bat? Yeah good idea....until he drops someone on 10 and they make a game changing double hundred.

He is a fill in at this point until we find a solid WK. Nobody is ready completely. So we are stuck with him. I don't deny he is merely an average player overall.

Saha cannot bat much, so he has to keep excellent to compensate. I dont think he is an "excellent" keeper like Kirmani or Alec Stewart or even like Kiran More or Sadanand Viswanath.

 

If Saha drops catches and/or misses stumpings, then he has no batting to compensate for those. Prolly Naman Ojha can atleast compensate a little bit. No good wk-batsmen around, so gotta choose between Saha, Ojha and CM Gautam. (Samson get him in ODIs first).
