Binny's selection - Where dreams can come true?

Binny scored in flattest of grounds in England, where even Bhuvi,Shami scored 50s each and match was a tame draw.In Sri Lanka,he looked like,he would get out any ball.He was either missing or edging balls. He averages 86 in bowling in tests. His bowling looks super ordinary. Please see it from team management and selector's point of view.If they don't select him after Roger Binny's departure now,it will look like there was a conflict of interest in his selection till now. So,everyone is playing safe here. The common notion is Roger stays out of discussion when Stuart's name comes up.But we all know,it's all decided before meetings.Selection meetings are most likely a formality. After age of 30,unless you are gifted, there is no ground for selection.India are 1 batsmen and 1 bowler short with his selection.Just play a proper batsmen or proper bowler in his place.

Bhuvi scored about 250 runs in England test series. He batted really well at Lords green pitch.I think his speed was in 135-140s vs SA since he was banging the ball half way for Dhoni's bizzare tactic to rough up the ball to bring spinners into play sooner. It worked in 4th ODI but failed badly in 5th ODI.Bhuvi should just look to bowl full and will get his swing back.If he can maintain the new found pace and get some swing, that would be great. He has always batted well in tests.

Saw Rishi Dhawan's bowling vs SA A in star sports channel. He bowled between 115-125 kph.He might be trying intentionally to not give batsmen pace to score runs though.Vijay Shankar has hardly bowled this season.Pandya needs to bowl more overs and take more wickets.

Irfan Pathan is back in 2015.His recent performances are: 18 runs, 3/61, 3/19 vs Punjab; 6/47, 58 and 15 runs vs Gujarat; 6, 1/68, 6, 0/41 vs TN; 3/47, 11, 1/55, 12 vs Mumbai;34, 2/54, 14, 1/38 vs Karnataka; 30, 3/56, 2* vs Railway; 98, 2/39, 1/31 vs UP. In 11 innings,he got 313 runs at 29 avg and 26 wickets in 12 innings at 21.38 avg.He has taken all his wickets on dry wickets this season. If he can maintain this for this season,he should be selected. At 32 age,he can play till next WC in England.

Team must look to try Pathan/Bhuvi/Dhawan/Pandya as 5th bowler in seamer friendly conditions or play Gurkeerat/Nair/Rohit.Playing both Binny and Saha at 6 and 7 will always be a disaster.

Bhuvi>=Pathan>Rishi>=Pandya>....every one>Bugs Bunny:whack:

Binny is a good batsman but an average medium pacer.

his batting in odi and even in tests has not been very bad. his bowling has been a failure. he shud have been faster or he shud have swung more.

but do we have other options..rishi seems to be under 130k..which is easy meat for international batsman.

pandya is not ready still so I guess binny got the chance as there were no options...

if he wanna play for india then he should increase his average pace from 126k to 138k - difference is 12k( quite a large difference I guess)

Binny 's dream is over once his father was removed as selectors.Waiting for Rishi & Hardik to erase his memories

Rishi Dhawan is in the same mould as Binny, in-fact he bowls even slower(120-125k) than Binny who has increased his speeds(125-135k). Our only hope is Hardik Pandya, no other options either in Internationals or Domestics.

Yes no hopes on dhawan.r.

pandya seems to be the only potential one.

binny wasn't as horrible even though yes he was nepotistic pick.....his batting was pretty decent and that spell in Bangladesh showed he is not the worst ever.

shouldnt play for India ever again but definitely not as bad as we think he is and at the same time not good enough to play for India again.

Rishi Dhawan was bowling 112 k to 122 k. That is very very slow for a " pacer ".

Pandya should work more on his bowling. He seems to be not taking his bowling seriously.

Where did you get that drift? Anyway, you can't find such an alrounder who is equally good at both. A true alrounder is one who can make the team either as a batsman or a bowler.

We right now need a batsman who can bowl, should be able to bat in top 7.
