CG Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Every country has certain type of pitches and home advantage should always be used but tracks like these where any spinner can take wickets and stroke play is difficult will only breed one style of play. We need pitches with some bounce and those which turn from 3rd day. diehardpacer, doccricket and Gunner 3
MechEng Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) They're any day better than 500+ runfests of Australia and on par with green pitches in England. Edited November 26, 2015 by MechEng sscomp32 and diehardpacer 1 1
rkt.india Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Pitches in India will always help spinners but these are bit too one dimensional. Spinners just need to put the ball and they will get the results. 150-200 run pitches are not good. 300-400 pitches are needed and match will go on 5 days and still produce result. diehardpacer 1
Mosher Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) These pitches will just boost the wicket tally of the spinners. Its really not going to help the spinners improve their game. When they tour overseas they will struggle to pick up wickets there as they will not get the same purchase off the pitch and they will give up easily. Forget about developing fast bowlers on these pitches. Edited November 26, 2015 by Mosher diehardpacer and Gunner 2
Debutant Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Did you guys whine this much when South Africa used to bowl out oppositions under 50 New guy and diehardpacer 2
Mosher Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) Dude India can still win on pitches which don't look like day 5 pitch on day 1 itself. We also shouldn't be whining when Indian bowlers perform poorly next time they tour overseas. Edited November 26, 2015 by Mosher diehardpacer 1

Shivaji bhonsle Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 How did Indians scored on the same pitch?
Mosher Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I would sympathies with any other opposition but these saffers deserve these kinda pitches. Yeah no sympathy for SA. But these typing of pitches will do more harm to India than benefit them in the long run. We have to look at improving the test team and not just look at the short term results. diehardpacer 1
express bowling Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 The pitch in the Bangalore test was ideal for this series. Sufficient help for spinners but batsmen and even pacers can do well if they apply themselves. diehardpacer and doccricket 2
vvvslaxman Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Somebody has to shock this SA team. They are unbeatable in a series abroad. So it is good for us to bring them out of their comfort zone. It may or may not be good for Indian cricket. But good for world cricket. vijay50, adi B and Mystique_Myth 3

amiret Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 No. We need pitches like this to boost our cricketing self-esteem.we can't risk another series loss otherwise people will start questioning why we are not #1 despite having more resources than any other Nation. vijay50 and diehardpacer 2

bulbul Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I don't think these kind of pitches will last..if matches finished within 2.5 days broadcasters will lose money diehardpacer and CricketBuffOne 2
fineleg Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Pitch ain't best, but not totally bad either. Batsmen are not applying themselves. CricketBuffOne and vijay50 2
sticky wicket Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Any rolls polly bowler who can roll his fingers will get wickets on this pitch hard to judge quality of of Ashwin, Tahir and Jadeja on these pitches CricketBuffOne and diehardpacer 2
cric_fan Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Disgusting pitch. No balance for batting/bowling. diehardpacer and Iconoclast 2
HippoSucks Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 There isn’t anything wrong with these pitches. Both sides are batting incompetently and making it seem like this pitches are impossible to bat on. A team like Pakistan would comfortably be able to score 250-300 on them.
