putrevus
People need to understand one things the very reason many of these female reporters are given these jobs is due to their looks.First comment from about "Eyes" was ok but the second one did not come out right it sounded cheap. She has a reason to be annoyed but by making this a big issue has amplified this thing more than it warranted. Trundler27
I used to once remember cricket as a gentleman's game.... Now we just have nutcases like gayle all over the place..... There is almost 0 professionalism left in cricketers of today. One would think that with more money, there would be better professionalism but a lot of such guys just act like idiots on and off the field.Even though it is pretty recent but I miss the professionalism of guys like Dravid, Sachin, Zak, etc. Link to comment
The Realist
Already under fire for flirting with an Australian reporter on live TV, West Indies batting star Chris Gayle has been accused of flashing a female staffer at the Cricket World Cup in Sydney last year. The Australian woman, who did not want to be named, made the allegation yesterday, the same day that Gayle was fined AUS$10,000 (US$7,200) for comments made to Channel Ten journalist Mel McLaughlin during a live television interview on the previous day.She told Fairfax Media that during a training session in February, she went into the dressing room to get a sandwich, expecting that all the players were out on the field. But, she said, Gayle, wrapped in a towel, was there with a teammate. According to her, the Jamaican pulled down his towel and exposed his genitals, asking her: “Are you looking for this?”“I was shocked, and I just walked out,” she said.Fairfax Media said West Indies team manager Richie Richardson was informed about the incident, but Gayle was not named. Richardson subsequently sent an email to all West Indies players demanding that women working around the team be treated with respect.“He [Richardson] was 100 per cent supportive of me. I had his absolute apologies and support,” the woman said.Read more: http://www.caribbean360.com/sports/chris-gayle-accused-of-exposing-genitals-to-woman-at-world-cup#ixzz3wVHWponT adi B 1 Link to comment
maniac
^ she went to get a sandwich in a men's locker room disgusting behavior by gayle though.... Does he even have a semblance of idea how to behave in a normal society but I feel really bad cracking up on the irony that she went in looking for a sandwich and then gayle removes his towel and asks her "looking for this" yep I feel bad for laughing at this :(( Link to comment

~ Miss Warner ~
Gayle acted like a tool but I feel overall this has been blown out of proportion quite a long way.I thought Mel handled it quite well, and for all those saying that she only has her job because of her looks, you must not have seen much of her before, she is actually a VERY well educated presenter & journalist, she has been around Australian sport for many years and has quite an extensive knowledge on most sports, especially football (soccer), I bet she'd smash most of ya'll in a sports trivia contest...I think this whole ordeal should have stopped at the apology, I don't see how fining him does anything and the talks of banning him from future BBL competitions are ridiculous... The BBL is currently selling out games left right and centre, including having a crowd over 80,000 a few nights ago, it doesn't need to be dealing with this drama, just let it go.What I find funny is the hypocrisy of Channel 10, they have smashed & condemned Gayle, saying that his actions go against the culture and ideals of the television network, yet this same network is the home of "The Bachelor", a show in which a guy dates 20 different women at the same time and picks one at the end to "keep"... Friggin' LOL.Get over it and move on IMO. Mosher, Texy and adi B 3 Link to comment

WC2011INDIA
You know if this thing is true, then we would have heard lot such rumors from IPL. He definitely parties hard in India. Makes me wonder how we haven't heard of any such incident here. Then again the young escorts of IPL or RCB have some kinda contract to not divulge client details no matter the situation. The Realist
Cricket legend Ian Chappell calls for worldwide Chris Gayle banEx-Australian skipper Chappell said CA needed to send a zero tolerance message on what he deemed "totally inappropriate" behaviour in a sport trying to gain traction with women."I wouldn't have a problem if Cricket Australia said to the clubs, `he's never to be contracted again in this country'," Chappell said in Sydney, where he participated in an Optus SMB Cricket Legends event alongside Tom Moody."And I also wouldn't have a problem if Cricket Australia said to the ICC, `what we're doing should be worldwide'."You'd have to talk to the individual countries then ... but I wouldn't have a problem if it was tabled at an ICC meeting that Cricket Australia said, `this is what we're doing and we would recommend that everybody else do the same'."How are you going to stop it otherwise?"Gayle later apologised for any offence, saying it was a "simple joke".But Chappell thought he was "past help probably now", and said the focus should be on sending a message to up-and-coming male cricketers."If it was a one-off thing, yeah, slap him with a $10,000 fine and say `mate, don't do it again'," he said."But every woman I spoke to [about Gayle] who's working at the cricket, you got the same answer from. They were quite adamant about it."http://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/cricket-legend-ian-chappell-calls-for-worldwide-chris-gayle-ban-20160108-gm22kv.html Edited January 8, 2016 by The Realist Link to comment

Shivaji bhonsle
Likes of David Lloyd and Tony Greig have openly made passes at women in the crowd.I remember probably during the 96 india tour of southafrica the South African team were pulling a prank on Shaun Pollock by making it look like he was proposing to a South African tennis star( don't remember her name exactly)the Pollock incident was probably harmless but Lloyd and Greig's behavior at times was brushed under the carpet as no big deal.one wrong doesn't cancel out another but......As much as Gayle's behavior was cringeworthy, the over the top reaction by the media is what is surprising. Media coverage wasn't so good those days. Link to comment
