We lost by 16 runs to NZ in 2007, not bad enough to be knocked out. This time, we have done enough damage to be kicked out. Even there, we beat SA handsomely to qualify.

If Ind are knocked out, massive losses will be incurred for the ICC and broadcasters Star Sports.

India are in a really tough group. All teams are good teams. No breathing space here. One huge loss like today and we will find it very tough to make a comeback. The pressure will be huge in the coming matches. Lets hope our boys are up to it.

At least all the hype that we are the best team and the media crowning us as the next champions has come crashing down to earth. I always believed that there are many contenders for the title and India may not match their batting abilities.

The loss would have not mattered much in terms of qualification, but a massive loss does, despite a low scoring game, India's NRR is -2.5. That is just huge. 

In this tough group inevitable all teams will loose and win some but only 2 out of 5 go through and NRR will come into play.

As I see it, hunters got hoodwinked by kiwis and now on the ropes. Every match India will be under pressure to win big, hence more pressure on Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli.

Yeah pretty much win all the games and obliterate a couple of teams along the way as well. India can still go through.  The early loss is out of the way and team has no option other than to win now.

One very dominant team among NZ and  Aus

and BD  or  Pakistan winning a game against NZ or Aus ( the less dominant one ) is a possibility and would help us if we can do well in the rest of our matches..

I was getting the same feeling. I was too young to understand what was going on then. It was just like this, suddenly taking the wind out of the sails.

Yes, it is how many games BD and Pak win would matter more 

But how knows, both of them could even win enough to qualify from G2

This time the pitch was prepared by ICC. So when Vidharbha curator prepared it last year for the test against SA, it was not in the spirit of the game, but its alright if ICC does that. Pure double standards.
