Asim Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 It was great little ceremony at start... For Pak I wonder who chose Shafqat Amanat for Anthem, totally unsuitable for this task. Still he might have done reasonable if he had to sing himself. They played traditional instrumental which has totally different pace so he just kept trying to sync with track and failed, even made couple of mistakes... Im sure Amitabh wuldv got uncomfortable if he had to perform like that... unbelievable stuff! tweaker and G_B_ 2

G_B_ Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 The issues I have -- Form of both openers. I feel Rohit will come good eventually. Dhawan I have doubts. I dont see a satisfying solution to this.-- Form of Raina with the bat. He is a good player of spin. Should not be dropped due to his bowling but is number 4 a bit too high? MSD appears to be in better form and maybe should bat there. Raina should bat at 6.-- Pandya. Whats his role? If pitches are spin friendly (not even ultra spin decks) Raina and Yuvi are better bets. Should we replace him with Negi or Bhajji? Bhajji himself is no slouch with the bat and is good for 10-15 runs. Which is ok for number 7.-- MSD and his handling of spinners.One match Ash bowled through the first 6. Another he comes on in the 4th over with Bumrah bowling up front.-- Our main spinners also seem to be bowling a bit under par. Once again no solution as such for this apart from trust Bhajji at 7.

Also, experience, even in failure, counts for a lot in these games. Yuvraj, enemy no.1 just a few days ago, is quietly building towards something special i reckon. The others will come good too.

Goosy, I know how you feel about Yuvi. And I share a lot of that - but he does look like he's fading. He's at best 60-70% of what he was. Still useful, but I would keep expectations low for him. Then again, you do manage to pull something special with some of your predictions so ghee shakkar and all that...
