Glad we are finally getting there with amount of blind umpires and bad decisions we are getting these days.. Hopefully same with ODIs and as well The WC one Sehwag was so bad... Both Semis and Finals.. Wish we have less of such mindless DRS use and more of thoughtful contemplation of whether the review is really needed.

We are not there yet. The way to look at this is that without DRS, even the first 3 decisions, which could potentially be howlers cannot be reviewed. At least with DRS, you have the cushion of challenging an obviously wrong decision. Remember Sydney 2008? How different could the result have been if we had the advantage of DRS. guess thats true there is something against nothing and total chance with no DRS. But i dont understand the basis for 3 reviews is it umpiers ego ? or is ball tracking etc payed based on usage -- i dont think so. They dont want players to to just challenge umpires , ok but if it is wrong then DRS will prove any number of time then why worry. Unless the elite panel and icc do not like being challenged by mere players.. 20 minutes ago, bowl_out said: The WC one Sehwag was so bad... Both Semis and Finals.. Guess this answers in part as to why there is only 3 reviews. if Harbhajan singh/sreesanth type angry players review everytime then there will be lots of interruption, may be they want to restrict it for commercial aspects. tweaker and New guy 1 1

Sajid_Rana Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Tendulkar did not wanted to use DRS. With him retiring long ago,I dont know why it took so long for BCCI to accept DRS. This also means no more easy wickets for Ashwin. TheWall, tweaker and New guy 1 2

express bowling Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) The " hot spot " and " snickometer " are very good tools. Checking no balls and the 3rd umpire looking at replays are also good. The " tramline " drawn on the pitch is very helpful. BUT The " Ball Trajectory Tracker " is far from being reasonably accurate despite despite higher number of frames used. Seeing many dubious decisions based on this. DRS should be used without this ..... with multiple replays seen by the 3rd umpire, with " tramline " drawn , deciding whether the ball is hitting the stumps.....till the time the trajectory tracker becomes reasonably accurate. 4 referrals per innings per side should be there instead of 2. Just 2 referrals are not enough as umpires make more mistakes per innings. Regarding referrals by umpires......The " Soft Signal " by the on-field umpire needs to go. It makes no sense and is resulting in wrong decisions by the 3rd umpire. The 3rd umpire should ask for the on-field umpire's view only when he is not sure after seeing the replays. Asim Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 28.1 Yasir Shah to Bravo, OUT, massive appeal, not given. That looked very very close. Misbah reviews. A flat delivery on middle and leg, spins in and beats Bravo's pull. Only doubt is height. Struck him on middle and leg too. Bravo crouches in his pull. This could get very close. The flatter trajectory was responsible for Bravo thinking he can pull but the ball wasn't nearly short enough. Umpire Gough will have to change his decision because that is hitting halfway up middle and leg. That looked plumb. Bravo is distraught, was looking rather comfortable. A lot of replays to check if there was an inside edge, but the position of the seam did not change, so no bat. 28.2 Yasir Shah to Samuels, no run, two in two? Umpire Gough gives him this time. The flatter delivery. Samuels reviews. Definitely bat, was it pad first? Samuels gets forward to defend the full delivery. Replays show that the bat may have been first to the ball, before the pad. Even though the bat was tucked behind the pad, somehow he has managed to get the upper half of his bat towards the ball. Two in two overturned. ============================== You got to be plain stupid to not adopt this system and demand for 100% accuracy and waste 5,7 years in foolish demands but I'm equally surprised at indian fans who have kept defending BCCI throughout...
