It is very unfortunate injury for one of best fast bowlers ever. I hope he comes back but this notion some people have that playing IPL or any other T20 league is going to hurt him more than playing tests is ridiculous. IPL is walk in park for bowlers like him and why should he forsake that money for someone else whims.

Not really. Having played enough cricket and have had similar inuries, I know what is Steyn lacking. He needs just some physio therapy rehab of few months and have lots of vitamin D pills. He can be easily back with full complete proper shoulder. I won't be surprised that he is low on Vitamin D, the major cause of all these niggels.

He most likely would have torn the rotator cuff muscle which should need few months of good physical therapy using light weights.

Shoulder born fracture, wonder how that happened, normally you don't see that while bowling, did he dive or field, because bowling Injury is usually rotator cuff, elbow, not fracture in terms of shoulder injury

It might be..

Steyn should have retired from ODIs after WC and should refrain himself playing from T20 Leagues including IPL.

He may have 3 more seasons left in him; why wouldnt he want to make the most of it. IPL is played across 6-7 weeks, even if his team reaches final and he plays every game all he has to do is bowl close to 65 overs; equal to number of overs he would bowl in 3 test innings.

Lets be logic everyone needs money, i think Steyn might play a series more get past pollock and then look at making some money. One thing even he knows, he wont be playing when next WC comes around.
