Texan Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 All these 50/50 decisions used to always go in favor of the Aussies whenever any team toured there. The ball stuck Mitch very close to the boot and in the image above it shows as if he was hit near the knee roll. The actual video shows the decision isnt bad.. More of Oz whinging than anything else.

The actual impact was on the foot and then it bounced up and hit the batsman on the pads but the tracking system took the impact as though it struck him on the pads and tracked that path and calculated it was hitting the stumps. If it took the impact as hitting the foot, it would have predicted the ball going down the leg side. Its impossible for the ball which was coming from that angle to straighten that much and hit the stumps. Hence it was a howler. Edited November 7, 2016 by kubrickian

Simply put, ball tracking can't account for swing and bounce..
