Ashwin never cease to suprise me. Will he be successful outside ASIA as well??

I thoroughly enjoyed Ashwin's bowling today. I am sure, even a neutral fan would have loved it.

Ashwin didn't do great outside ASIA with limited chances he got. But this new look Ashwin can do better in countries like say SA, Eng, Australia, NZ? Obviously, nobody expects him to run thru the teams outside ASIA but chip in with 2 to 3 wickets with good economy and odd 5fr when pitch assists him.

Loved Loop, revolutions on the ball, dip and finally spin. He is a batsmen nightmare.

The main 3 pacers have to get the majority of wickets abroad. Ashwin has to be 4th bowler and support the pacers and average 3 to 3.5 wkts per match. Pandya has to be the 5th bowler averaging 2 to 2.5 wkts per match.

 

This is the best bowling combo I can think of with the resources available at the moment, without weakening the batting much.

Big difference maker for him is the change in ball - the SG ball in India makes him so much more potent.   Not easy to be the same bowler with a different ball.  And how much time will he really get to practice with the different ball given the packed calendar these days.  Can he do it? Sure, but won't be easy.  Another issue is that in places like Eng/SA/Aus/NZ, spinners don't really come into the game before D4 - and our team rarely puts itself in a position where a spinner can attack.  

 

Our batting and seamers have to fire, and do so together, to take the game into situations that give Ash chances to attack.    Once we start doing that on a regular basis, I think Ash will start taking wickets and improving his overseas record.

Ashwin will reinvent his restricting game when he tours now with Kumble beside him. Bhuv/pandey will be crucial and would fill jadeja/ Jayant roles overseas.

He wont get the same success as he does here but yes he will be a much better bowler for us. He may even win us a series in Aus or SA.

Kumble,s presence is already showing up.

All the spinners are bowling notch better.

I am sure Jayant will improve Manu folds under his guidance

Ashwin looks like will be coming good this time, as he has learnt to vary his speeds, flights the ball when he needs to and one this he needs to do away is every few balls out in more spin n in general more body in his bowling, he just needs to extract a bit more spin n bounce abroad n rather over spin the ball then under spin so he can bee more effective

If lyon can do it why can't ashwin ...
I see ashwin's turning point was the australia tour 2014-15 .. he bowled decently in test matches then in odis and WC he was very good 
his flight dip drift all went to another level ... and from the next series of banglandesh he is takings fifers after fifer and lots of MOS awards
he will definetely have decent to good series in overseas now

IMO to be the best allrounder India ever produced Ash needs to play a big part in a series away to Aus England and Sa which India win.

 

Will put him above the likes the Dev for me.

will have to see with time but i am enjoying his bowling. he has been very good and it is not so easy for an offspinner to dominate like the way he has

 

so we can't really say till he plays again in different conditions but hopefully he is learning

If our pace attack becomes potent overseas, I can guarantee we will be offered much balanced pitch and that will start of Ashwins revival. All our pacers need to do is take 2 in the session when ball is new without giving away too many runs.
