Chennai Pitch was a disgrace to Test cricket. It took 800 runs in a single innings to be scored at almost 4 RPO for us to force a result. Happened only 1-2 times that such a high score was made at over 4 RPO in test cricket. Had we even scored at 3.5 RPO ( which is a great rate for Test cricket ) , the match would have been drawn.

How is such a pitch good for anyone but batters ?

We should have pitches like MUMBAI for all the 4 venues.

It is not in India's interest that 3 of the 4 venues are debut venues for Test cricket.

They will in the interest of having a full 5 day game roll out pattas and make it a one sided cr@ppy pitch.

The instruction to the curators for home pitches should be RESULT pitches that favor our spinners. Nothing more nothing less.

That place had a cyclone the day before, besides you dont want to have spinning tracks were there is nothing for the opposition, thats a hollow victory. When you win a series like Ind did with England that sweet victory.

heat in Feb. Feb is a winter month at places like Dharmshasla, Ranchi. Even Bengluru would not be too hot.

Feb was treated as a winter season back when I was going to school, but sadly not anymore. Going by the recent years our summer starts from December and ends at November :giggle:

The pitches should not aid only spinners ,but it should have some help for pacers also. The test should not be decided by toss & should not finish in less than.3 days.

If pitches are helpful to pacers, India will lose. Australia have Starc, Bird, Hazelwood. We have Shami and a whole bunch of hope and hot air. Barring one or two batsmen in our team, their batsmen play pace better than ours. So why would we want to play to our opposition's strength ?

South Africa sucks at producing spinners. And except for Warne & McGill, Australia hasn't produced a single world class spinner in 40+ years. You ever see them making pitches (except Sydney) that has any help whatsoever for spinners ?!
