Lannister
On 12/24/2016 at 0:13 AM, Temujin Khaghan said: its the odi performances which decide the mass fanbase of a player in India. Anyday, Yuvraj was a bigger superstar in Andhra Pradesh than VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly bigger than Rahul Dravid in Karnataka. Because of ODI heroics. Test heroics are like winning the Palm d'Or for intellectual movies - it gives you ultimate glory in elite circles but its the ODI heroics which are equivalent to Blockbuster movies - which the layman understands. Sachin's fanatical fanbase is not because of 51 Test centuries, its mainly because of the 49 ODI centuries. This is not true. Here Dravid is a bigger brand when compared to Ganguly. Dravid's achievements in the Test format have more than made up for any shortcomings in limited overs cricket. Even then he was athletically superior to Ganguly. Sachin, Kohli and Yuvraj are obviously lead the chart anywhere in India. beetle 1 Link to comment
Crickluv
Because they don't have so much huge fan following. You will so many pages and group for virat kohli but not for Ashwin and Laxman . But that's sure they legend as well. beetle 1 Link to comment

Infact i dare say, an Indian Sanath jayasurya would have probably earned more than sachin for a few years when he enjoyed unparalleled awe and fear from the bowlers and fans worldwide. An Indian Sanath would have earned far more money than the "very presentable" but less dangerous Yuvraj Singh. Looks dont matter in sports... Looks are only a bonus not a necessity... the biggest chunk of cricket fans are teenage boys and wtf would they care for their heroes' looks? according to the logic of some ICF'ers here an Indian Ahmed Shehzad would have earned more money than an Indian Hashim Amla... tsk tsk tsk.. please dont say that ashwin cannot earn much because he doesnt look good. is sehwag a handsome hunk? he has a bald patch the size of eden gardens behind his head even before he reached 30. Infact his massive income increased after the bald patch kept getting bigger and bigger. Because during the same time he spanked bowlers worldwide to all parts of the ground in all grounds. He went on to build an international school with his earnings.. or is sachin a more stylish looking/ desirable man with huge female fan following than rahul dravid...? its all about their performances in ODIs dont keep pushing your southies vs northies agenda here... look some place else. Disagree. Sehwag was better than sanath jayasuriya. Link to comment

The only massive fallowing cricketers popular cricketers are Dhoni and Sachin.Apart from that most of the popularity here is dominated by Tamil film stars . Ashwin and Vijay though are popular but for example no more popular than D Karthick .He arguably got the biggest cheer during TNPL matches . Link to comment

Well if people from their own state are not their fans then people can't blame that they are not getting endorsements Link to comment
