Kudos to him, we are separate nation today.

Just imagine, being one country.

A nation of 1.7 Billion, communal clashes probably every morning, cultural differences leading to tensions between neighborhoods, politics driven ONLY by religion -- our lives would have revolved just around that and not to mention India being called the "epicenter" of terrorism.  We would have been where Syria is today.

Thank you Jinnah, even though the motive for your separation was different, we got the benefits.

The terrifying consequences of fake news was illustrated when Pakistan's defence minister threatened to attack Israel with nuclear missiles.

He responded to a false news article suggesting Israel had threatened Pakistan with nuclear obliteration if it sent forces into Syria.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif's sinister threat read: 'Israeli def min threatens nuclear retaliation presuming pak role in Syria against Daesh. Israel forgets Pakistan is a Nuclear state too.'

The New York Times said he was responding to a bogus article on awdnews.com in which it was claimed Israel's Defence Minister had said: 'If Pakistan send ground troops into Syria on any pretext, we will destroy this country with a nuclear attack.'

Pakistan and Israel both have nuclear arsenals.

Mr Asif appeared to accept the article at face value, despite the fact that it mentioned Israel's former defence minister, Moshe Yaalon, rather than Avigdor Lieberman, who took over in May.

Russia along with Pakistan and China will hold secretary-level trilateral talks in Moscow on December 27 about restoration of peace in Afghanistan, the media reported.

Zakharova said Russia, China and Pakistan had "noted the deterioration of the security situation (in Afghanistan)".

The three countries agreed a "flexible approach to remove certain figures from sanctions lists as part of efforts to foster a peaceful dialogue between Kabul and the Taliban movement," she added.

Pakistan quietly helped Iraq in its fight against ISIS militias, which reached a major milestone this week with the liberation of Mosul from the terrorist group’s control after three years of occupation.

Talking about Pakistan’s help, the ambassador said Iraq, besides getting intelligence on terrorists, also received arms and ammunition and military medical assistance from the country.

He recalled some of the Iraqi pilots, who took part in action against the ISIS, had been trained in Pakistan.

The ambassador said the continuing intelligence cooperation between Iraq and Pakistan could help the latter deal with the expanding footprint of the ISIS in the region.

Anything more than 220 milllion, then Bangla GDP per capita will be higher than Pak GDP per capita :hehe:

Wont be too long before Bangla economy also surpasses Pak's in absolute terms to too, which will happen even quicker as India-Bangla trade is increasing every year

Would be interesting to see Bangla GDP and GDP per capita progress since 1970s vis a vis Pak and India

Why I felt it might not be a typo is that it also provides a figure for Karachi that would be commensurate with the 300 million figure.

I did see the other news reports stating the 220 million figure which is DEFINITELY understated if you look your population growth rate since 1980. Probably closer to 250 millions.

well, no one knows exact figure, the result of current census will be announce soon ....

Doesn't Uttar pradesh alone have more people than Pakistan lol * living there.

UP is not considered as a developed / wealthy state relatively speaking. It has a low GDP per capita

UP is the largest state in India comprising of mostly fertile plains but it doesn't have a larger population than Pakistan. UP has 204 millions vs 250 millions in Pakistan. UP also has the largest muslim population, contributing to a relatively higher growth rate.

What I found truly shocking was that UP has an education budget (combined state plus center) of 12 billion USD compared to the WHOLE of Pakistan that together spends 7.5 billion USD on education.

Pretty sure Rajasthan is the largest state.
