This is like saying India is playing at home when playing in Kashmir lol. Younis has better average and almost same number of 100s despiste playing 50 less test matches. And top of that Younis was not able to score cheap runs on home dead pitches. At the end of the day results matter and thats where Younis beats Dravid. urnotserious, beetle, sandeep and 2 others 5
wanted_desi Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 The way Younis Khan Hops around the crease against fast men is embarrasing, but the way he makes run when conditions suit him to get his average is also something. Dravid scored when conditions were tough and looked great against every kind of bowler. Even Viv average is 10 less than Sanga l, but noone on earth believes Sanga was better than Viv.
Asim Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 (edited) batting technique, method, style are all subjective things, you can like/dislike but the ultimate thing which matters the most is your performance, no? The fact is Younis actually perform even better in pressure situations which is very well reflected in his 4th inng stats which ofcourse is not easy to bat on Anywhere in the world, do anyone disagree? The fact is 4th inng in Asia is more difficult to bat on as compared to Eng or Aus... I think Younis also got most number of 4th inng hundreds? Edited January 8, 2017 by Asim
Jimmy Cliff Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Serious question for some of the Younis backers here, what are his best knocks against good/great pace attacks in bowler friendly conditions? Haven't followed his career all that closely so would be nice to know. sandeep 1

Where is a good match saving or winning knock in Australia? A country which has dominated the cricket. If you do not have a good match saving knock in such country, how can you be considered great? Australia and South Africa is a must for any batsman to score great amount of runs. If you have not piled runs there, you can not be considered better over the other. Younis is a brilliant player, one of the best and one of greats of Pakistan. But Dravid has been a better cricketer overall. Asim, mishra and sandeep 3

Besides Aus 175, his another recent was Oval 200 (vs Broad and Anderson), yes it helped spin in 2nd inng but I think Eng all 10 were taken by Pak pacers in 1st inng...

Dravid avg:s 68+,65+,63+,41+,29+ in 5 ALIEN COUNTRIES of ENG,NZL,WI,AUS,SAF where as Younis has 50+,50+,43+,32+,22+ in these 5 countries. And the sample size too is 117 inns to Younis's 65.and over all avg: too is 53.13:40.96 which is hugely in favour of Dravid. The above stats is adequate enough to place Dravid way above Younis in tests alone . No need to even look into the matter of 'pleasing to the eye' aspects & one day records.
Bigg Brother Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Many rate Dravid even better than Sachin in tests..This is joke comparison.

Think both of these knocks were scored in nearly ideal batting conditions tbh. Still, his 218 is an ATG knock in a series context.

How is 175 considered a meaningful innings? Scored in a dead rubber on a belter after 4 cheap dismissals, even one decent innings of 40+ might have changed the outcome in the 1st 2 tests. This 175 is the classic example of soft runs. Predictably, when Pak needed him to play an innings of substance on day 5, Younis gave it up like a groupie spreading wide for a rock star. Sorry for the harsh words, but when you compare a tier 3 batsman with a tier 1, and that too with a straight face, you're going to get some rude replies. express bowling 1

Dravid also has drawn a series in Eng with bat (2002) as well as won (2007). Won series in Carribean with bat (2006) - no Pak team has ever. Drew in OZ in 2004 due to Dravid. YK has lost every match played in Oz.
