Great team effort. Hard Lucky Mumbai, they had their chances today and in this game, but dropped many of them.

Parthiv played well, albeit with some luck. But overall, well done to them. Panchal was probably the find of the season for Indian Cricket. Hopefuly he continues to score plenty of runs in the coming season and get selected for the A tours and Indian team.

Congrats to Gujarat and it's supporters.

Here's them celebrating in style, and why not. They deserve this.

muhahahaahahha...so happy that mafia city lost...serves them right after some disgraceful tactics like bringing in

under age kids to semis.,,thankfully another fluke win avoided !

WTF? What's disgraceful about giving a young kid a debut?  That's just whining.  Suck on it, Bombay haters.

Great to see their joy at winning such a prestigious prize. FC cricket is alive and well in India. Sorry but T20 wins can never mean as much, however much money is thrown at it.

Enjoy it lads.:hatsoff:

Alive and well.  And meaningful.  But not much of a mass audience, unless "star" players are playing.  BCCI also doesn't provide consistent TV coverage.  Lot of room for improvement from an administration perspective.  To be fair, they are working on it - this year was the first year that all games were played on neutral pitches, for example.

By the way someone I know who was in India for the Tests told me that all Ranji matches are played on neutral grounds because of pitch doctoring in the past. Is this true?

If so I'll never complain about the ECB's "no toss in county cricket if the visitors want to bowl" rule again.

It's exactly the same here unfortunately. Very little coverage of county championship in the national media, Sky only show one match at the end of the season.

Yes, very true.  Teams were easily able to get grounds keepers to tweak wickets in their favor.  I think ECB's toss rule is a better solution - one that preserve home advantage for teams, and gives local fans an opportunity to see "their" guys live at the ground.  Hopefully BCCI goes that route next year.  Logistically a lot easier for them as well.  Lots of Ranji teams had a lot of gripes about having to deal with crazy travel schedules and transportation modes with the 'neutral' grounds setup.
