And similarly, the same trainer can make a monkey act like a lion Jadeja is that case of a being a monkey. The amount of chances he got by Dhoni, and with all the facilities and resources of BCCI, Jadeja is that monkey who once in a while perform like a lion. Offcourse after 200 international games, you are bound to perform once in a while. Kuldeep is a better batsman, bowler than Jadeja Don't jump to conclusions. Golu Kuldeep looks like he's at best, only marginally fitter than Ramesh Powar. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited about Kuldeep as a prospect. I would love to see him play at least one test against OZ, and I thought he should have debuted against England in these 6 LOI games. But Jaddu is a gun bowler in tests, and a very reliable bowler and fielder in ODIs. Just because his batting underwhelms, especially in contrast to expectations, shouldn't diminish his bowling value to the team. sscomp32, tweaker and chewy 3

After playing 39 international t20s, his strike rate is 88 in t20. Even Attapatu would be ashamed of this strike rate. The guy has played 127 Odis, and only scored 1 match winning fifty. The fact is he is just a economical bowler who can field well. Kuldeep Yadav is a better bet IMO Jaddu himself acts as if he is a hard hitter. He isn't. Nothing more frustrating that a lower middle order who isn't a hard hitter and who has brain farts a plenty. Thankfully he is a good bowler, especially in India. But I never have all-rounder delusions from him. If he occasionally does something with the bat, ok. Bonus. sandeep 1

And he should be dropped for a poor shot ? Don't be that fickle . SecondSlip, sandeep and tweaker 3

maniac Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Still a mystery to me how Jadeja made it as one of the best test bowlers in the world, but his ODI bowling is very very useful but it is a joke to call him an allrounder at any level.....decent lower order batsman at best who can hold one end when there is a collapse but his LOI batting is atrocious. tweaker 1
putrevus Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Are his triples hundreds real, to score three triple hundreds is not a joke at any level. But reality is he no better than a no 10 in international level. His SR is atrocious for a batsmen with such low average.

Yes even if pitch patta and easy bowlers, he needs to bat some hours to score 300, and three times 300. Maybe he has gotten lazy (batting) now.

Jadav debuted in this test series but he gave more confidence than Jadeja ever did in his whole career. Edited January 16, 2017 by putrevus

Afridi looked more secure than this guy and that should say it all. rahulrulezz 1

Even Pandya wasn't calm yesterday initially.Pandya played some awful shots and was lucky not to get out.He was running like a headless chicken till the end . But to his credit ,he got settled down after initial jittery played sensibly in his shot selection.

Initially Pandya was jittery which is common to great batsmen too but he settled down later where as you never get that sense with Jadeja .It is not like this guy has ability to launch sixes at will. Afridi did win matches on his own with his bat especially earlier in his career. Afridi really had ability to launch sixes which this guy does not possess.Unless he is the main wicket taker I do not think he should be persisted in odis.He is ineffective away from home any how
King Tendulkar Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 How quickly forget those glorious knocks v England . The magical sword wielding celebrations was that not finally sign of improvement ?
coffee_rules Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) Lower order of Hardik, Sir, Ashwin/Axar, Bhuvi/Umesh, Bumrah/Shami looks pretty solid for late-order finishes like the first ODI. It is the MO of Yuvraj&Dhoni that is worrisome. Edited January 17, 2017 by coffee_rules express bowling 1

For me, looking down the road to WC 2019, its KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and a spinner who can be effective in England ODIs - whether that's Kuldeep or Chahal - these 3 are the prospects that I see as key to India's chances. These 3 along with Shami will decide how far we go in that tournament.

Sir's hawa-hawa-ii shots have a greater likelihood for success in tests, but more likely to be caught in the deep in ODIs. Ghud-Savaar needs to improve his placement skills so he can take those 1s and 2s without taking undue risks. Until he does that, he will always be a hit-or-miss tailender in ODIs.
express bowling Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) Jadeja is a must for test matches in Asia.... top bowler and recently improved batsman. But....in LOIs, Axar is a better batsman and a similar bowler. Will probably replace Jaddu after CT17 in LOIs. Edited January 17, 2017 by express bowling

Kuldeep, Nathu / Sran, Bumrah....with Ashwin and Shami rested when test matches are around the corner. Some rotation policy maybe tried to test out more new players. Axar is pretty much the description of meddling cricketer not good enough in either discipline. Even in the last Newzealand series where wickets were helpful for spinners he averaged 47 King Tendulkar 1
