And if Lyon was Indian, he'd have 300 wickets by now. Its not exactly divine knowledge that if you are born a Saffie or Aussie, you will develop better as a pacer and if you are born an Indian or a Lankan, develop better as a spinner....

To spearhead pace attack of India when we have at least 6 genuine fast bowlers in queue.

To take 3 wickets on a patta of Australian top and middle order.

Would have got Maxwell  at 99 yesterday.

Your statements highlight that you are trolling.

Even ishant bowled his heart out.

I have even hopes from him.

Looks you are jealous of Indian fast bowlers bowling 137 to 145k

And Australians from 130 to 145k and on average looking less threatening...so r u feeling low becos of that.

Umesh yadav is going to bowl at 150+ in Australia and starc will find it tough to compete with him...he has immaculate  line length and furious pace now.

Yes he was erratic earlier in his career but those days are history.

Venky would have taken a 10-fer on this pitch.

No I don't agree...he did bowl low but todays Australian batsman would have negated him.

During those times batsman ,tail of team started from no 6...even our own kapil dev used to bat at 6 and either kapil scored a 50 or a under 10 score..it was a 50:50 chance.

So even a no 6 batsman was not a genuine batsman.

Srinath had pace and skills.

Prasad did get wickets after the top 4 or 5 batsman...i remember that.

His bouncers were too slow.

He played for India and got some wickets as batsman went after him as there was a 15k to 20k difference of pace between him and srinath who was the best fast bowler India ever produced till today.

"Throughout, Karnataka's batsmen were found wanting on several fronts, not covering the line of the delivery, failing to get entirely forward and not getting to the pitch. Such lapses made an appearance early, when Mayank Agarwal, the season's highest run-scorer, fell to Umesh Yadav's electric reflexes in the third over. Having closed the face of his bat to one that had straightened, Agarwal popped a leading edge to Umesh's right, who got down in an instant and stuck out his right hand."

"With Karnataka three down for 40, Faiz Fazal brought back his premier paceman, Umesh. The one trick Fazal missed was in hesitating to place a third slip, perhaps guarding himself against the low target to defend. The flaw was exposed when Umesh found Karun Nair's outside edge that went past second slip and gully. Fazal immediately closed the gap, but Umesh made a fuller offering on the pads next ball. He continued to be erratic and was easily the least impressive of Vidarbha's pacers."

all the same from Umesh.

domestic cricket is an opportunity for him to practice hard and get his full form back...if he is not in form he may get thrown out of the india squad from the next series...he needs to understand bhuvi siraj saini and even the big ISHANT are hitting him hard and with bhuvi and shammi already ahead of him in all formats of the game...he will become another Varun if he does not pick himself up

Umesh has lost the accuracy that he had got during Kumble's tenure

Playing him in SA would be a big risk

He should work on his accuracy again and be picked only if he stops spraying

He has always been a spraygun. In the first few tests too, I recall his ER was close to 4.
