Just bats defensively but gets our silly, may be he might have come good may be not but Mukund is struggling.

Comms would say pitch is flat when our boys batted on it, as soon as other team batted was suddenly a land mine lol how i wish that is true, man i miss those days. I used to think winning at home is nothing anyone can do it and batting against spin is super easy as it is slow bowling and Indian spinners are super special to get other team wickets etc..lol Then those guys got old everything unraveled pretty quickly

I need a bigger sample size then 1 match to drop a player he has been excellent for a while now . Particularly overseas

However, hoping it will be detoriating starting tomorrow like how 4th & 5th day pitches are. We need to bat 2 session tomorrow and I feel we can win. 250+ needed pitch played better even yesterday. Only the first day, it was weird due to moisutre and cracks.

Pitch was easier to bat on even yesterday. It has not become much different than it was yesterday. They are comparing how it played when they batted in the first innings to how it was in their 2nd innings. That said, it still had a lot for Lyon and uneven bounce for pacers. lots of shooters that Indian batsmen had to cope with.

Anything below 250 Aussies will romp home easily. We need to bat 2 sessions tomorrow. Today's pitch was very much similar to how it played yesterday. Only first day first two hours were real bad due to a bit of dampness. It still had a lot for Lyon and variable bounce for seamers. It will only get worse as the game progresses.

Anything below 250 Aussies will romp home easily. We need to bat 2 sessions tomorrow. Lyon was still getting a lot of purchase in the early part of the innings though. Lot of deliveries turned square, some went straight, some kept low, some bounced and at one point, he looked like taking a wicket every over. In post tea session, I thought he didnt hit the right lengths where as in 1st innings he was right on the money. Maybe he was tired after bowling in the 1st innings or maybe the pressure of India getting the lead factored into it. Or maybe Indian batsmen just applied themselves better and he tried to do different things which reduced his effectiveness. So I wouldnt necessarily say it has become easier for batting. Perhaps a bit compared to 1st day as mentioned by Rahul because of moisture but it will only get worse from here. Pitches in India dont become easier for batting like they do in Aus, SA or Eng where the moisture in wicket gets dried and becomes good for batting. These types of pitches are already dry and deteriorating from day 1 and will only get worse with time, unless you roll out a complete patta wicket. Edited March 6, 2017 by NareshK
Ultimate_Game Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Need to score 150 more at least to set a target of 270+. Ideally a target of 300+ would be preferable.

But we have only 4 bowlers out of which one is presumably injured and unfortunately he is our go to guy and a certified match winner. Without Ash at his best, the task will be steep. Hope he can summon the courage for one final performance(hopefully this entire series) and rest during IPL. Moreover Aussies are high on confidence and have been very lucky up until now. We need a rub of luck going our way the next 2 days.

I doubt any player would sit out of IPL coz if they sit out thy lose the contract payout. Maybe BCCI needs to have safeguards in place that if a player is medically unfit, his contract would be paid by BCCI so player doesn't miss out economically.

I think Shami was compensated by BCCI last year for missing IPL after he had played with injury for India prior to the league. http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/mohammad-shami-gets-rs-2-2-crore-for-loss-of-pay-in-ipl-2015-2907145/ Ashwin should also be compensated like Shami was and be allowed to recuperate. It is high time BCCI takes care of our bowlers if India is to become a dominant test side at home and acceptable overseas. Ultimate_Game, Mosher and AuxiliA 3

BCCI has to step in and force some of the players to sit out coz you can't expect players to make that call. I would like to see Kohli sit out as well given the way he has played continuously across all formats for the last year. No point in burning out your stars or at the very least make them sit out first half of IPL.
