Losing respect for Virat Kohli, says Ian Healy on sledging

I'm not defending Healy's wining and hypocrisy.

Also I respect Kohli and think he a decent guy but I don't think a captain should be engaging in this stuff. Someone else should be doing the dirty bit.

TBH I don't really care either way. It varies from person to person. There are some guys who are more comfortable not sledging at all a la Dravid and there are some who love to be in their opponent's face and it sort of gets them up for a fight. Likes of Kohli and earlier Gambhir fall into the latter category. Kohli and company cop it all the time and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't give it back. If sledging drives Kohli and works for him, I don't see any reason why he doesn't do so provided he doesn't cross the line the way Aussies did with Cairns. Toilet humor and related sledging is more juvenile than anything and if it works for players i say go for it.

Actually this sounds like a hindi filmy story
Saalon se Zaalim Australians ki sledging ka Kehar thaaa.....bechari dunia rootti thi
Sledging ka jawab dene ek din 1 hero aaya- Kohli

Apna hero unke ghar jaake unhe gaali deta hai
Bat se pitayi bhi bahut krta
Press conference main bhi gaali deta hai
Ghar aane par mehman nawazi nhin aur gaali deta tha

Ab zaalim australian rote hai ki kohli bht sledge krta hai.

Moral of the story- 100 australians ki, ek kohli ki

They are not used to brown people talking back. Brown people are meek and subservient and that's what they are used to...

Good to know the heavily biased Healy had some respect for Kohli to begin with!

Aussies only respect you as long as you take shyte from them and don't give it back... I recall Ganguly also lost Aussies' "respect" after the 2001 series.

Awesome by Kohli, this political correctness from all Asian teams  and colonial mentality where you are still concerned about what white man thinks needs to be thrown out of the window.

Healy or any Aussie cricketer talking about honesty and integrity need to check their own past actions first .Aussies have always been ones who are willing to cross the line between fair and sportive spirit for the sake of winning. Right from Greg Chappell under arm gate to monkey gate.

They vilified Stuart Broad for doing what they do all the time.Aussies are very sportive as long as they are winning but when they start losing true colors tend to come out.
