Trichromatic
Took a test hattrick against SA. He is turning out be very good performer both with bat and ball. Link to comment
SK_IH
superb player, two man of match performances as a bowler vs sa Link to comment
MechEng
Moeen is a good bowler but not that good as he showed against SA. SA are terrible against spin. Link to comment
SK_IH
obviously eng wont win anything in subcontinient with ali as premier spinner but he is doing his job as an all rounder Link to comment
zaqw222222
Solid performer for England Link to comment
wanted_desi
Average of 26 with bat and 98 with ball. It is going to be a long tour for him. Turning_track 1 Link to comment

He's a spin bowling version of Hardik Pandya - a valuable piece that lends good balance to the England side. But England attempting to use him as a primary spinner is failing, just as India would fail if they used Pandya as a front-line seamer in test cricket. Ali is a very good parasitic 5th bowler, he will take wickets if the rest of the attack is doing well, but can be the weak link if they aren't. At the end of the day, he's not the problem for England at the moment, its their poor batting. Carrying an aging Cook and Anderson, young and inconsistent batsmen in Stoneman, Vince and Malan - while misusing Bairstow all the way down the order at #7/8 is sheer self-inflicted stupidity. mancalledsting
also remember, apart from Australian spinners, spinners and especially finger spinners tend to struggle in Australia. harbhajan, murali, swann all struggled there. I'm not sure why, but as a spinner you need to bowl differently between Australian, Indian and English conditions. Moeen Ali seems to be very good in England but horrible anywhere else. Apart from the subcontinent where spin is the main threat, performance of spinner is generally contingent upon rest of bowling attack.no surprise then that he under performs when his seamers under performed in Aus and India Gollum 1 Link to comment
SK_IH
He is being used a main spinner ,which he will never be, unfair on him,the fact that Eng continue to think they can win in Subcontinent or Aus with Ali as premier spinner is funny Link to comment
Khota
What I have seen of him I would call him average at best. He could never play for India with his current skill set. Link to comment
Vijy
Ali is showing his true colours, esp. in comparison to lionheart. Link to comment
