We can always expect DK to lose his head and get run out

I dunno man, Kohli & running himself (or the partners) out seems to be a recurring theme. Likewise with Vijay and Pujara in tests.

Dhawan just did not make full use of his form. Two needless run outs.  He was going so well against Moeen ali.

dhawan usually looks disinterested in the proceedings after a period of time..maybe he needs high quality unplayable bowling to challenge him.. .. and  on an unrelated note,I wish he would stop that thigh-slapping stunt

I know a lot of people will dislike me for my comment-but I do think for once Chappell had the right vision.
BCCI should have backed DK as our wk bat instead of Dhoni from the beginning.
He is hard working and selfless-does it for the team.
He had temperament issues--they should have hired a good mental conditioning coach for him.

Lol.. This is too much. Agreed Dhoni is crap now a days but during his peak there was no wk batsman better than him in the world let alone India.

the DK of the previous decade was, by his own admission, brash, impatient and unable to translate talent to performance.. the sessions with Abhishek Nayar have probably have him turn a corner..

Adam Gilchrist anyone?
Dhoni is more of inflated hype Imo.
Yes, he was a good player - but he is not as good as people make him out to be.

Kohli doesn't seem to be taking any risks whatsoever? This seems to be due to the dudly duo coming after him, now who says stupidity doesn't pay? We have Indian team as the shining example, Dhoni and Shastri in particular to prove haters wrong!

Kohli will probably get out after a half century.

Didn't Sachin suggest it?
I read somewhere Chappell hyped Kartik as India's next Captain.

nope it was chappel 1st in 2005 or 06, sachin suggested in 2007 which is when he became captain

Writing in his autobiography Fierce Focus , Chappell said such was the hierarchy in the team that youngsters were petrified of speaking before a senior such as Sachin Tendulkar in the team meetings.

“The real ray of hope for Indian team was Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the most impressive young cricketers I'd ever worked with. He was smart, and able to read the game as perceptively as the best leaders,” Chappell wrote.

“If I wanted to know what was going on in the middle, Dhoni became my go-to man. He would eventually break down one of the biggest problems in the India teams,” he added, referring to the young players' reluctance to express themselves.

Dhoni has leadership quality: Chappell

Showering praise on Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Indian coach Greg Chappell said on Monday that the Jharkhand wicketkeeper has the potential to become a great leader.

Addressing a function organised by the Jharkhand State Cricket Association in Jamshedpur to felicitate Dhoni for being the first cricketer from Jharkhand to play for the country, Chappell said Dhoni has a positive attitude and plays the game whole-heartedly.

"Dhoni is a good hitter of the ball and has the potential to become a great leader. has no false modesty and judges the situation to ably tackle it," Chappell said
