Kohli is sachin's shishya, dhoni can't even dream about batting like kohli, dhoni wishes kohli makes him his shishya

Obviously you have no idea how Guru-Shisya relationship works. Guru's need not be as skillful as their Shisya's but they are still Gurus because of the enormous Gyaan they possess. Guru Dronacharya was not as great as Arjuna but he was still his guru because he was more Gyaani than Arjuna. Guru Parashurama's shisya Karna was a bigger warrior and his bhakti towards his guru is due to his enormous Gyaan. They all learn the art from their Guru's and later went on to to enhance it further. Similarly Kohli has got all the Gyaan and learn all the tricks from Gyaani Guru Dhonicharya and now enhancing those skills only to make his guru proud.

@velu is an expert in these Guru-shisya field. So he can educate you more I guess.

Agree he has surpassed Sachin ODI's for sure.

No, WC record sets them apart. Kohli needs to have 2 ATG WC performances (top scorer/ 100s in SF/F...) to even warrant a comparison. Sachin is the 2nd greatest ODI batsman behind Viv and will remain so otherwise.

My favourite Bobby Fischer quote:

Quote

In 1960, in a tournament in Buenos Aires in which he uncharacteristically finished 13th, Fischer was emerging from the tournament hall after a win. One of the assembled admirers offered him a standard compliment: "Great game, Bobby." Fischer snapped back, "How would you know?"

When this peasant 'Dadu Tony Cool Phony' Sloth Bear made this comment I was reminded of the Fischer quote. IMHO Thalaiva isn't competent enough to compliment a class player like Kohli, never mind his bakwaas analysis and non existent cricket understanding :p:

Was surprised to learn that Dhoni has just 1 match-winning hundred while chasing in ODIs against the Top 8 Sides. Same as Lords Pandey/Rayudu/Kaif/Yusuf Pathan/Chetan Sharma etc :((

For a big match player, dhoni has had two good to great innings in his career. 2007 t20 WC SF and 2011 WC final. Apart from that, he has come up short every time again and again. He came up short in all t20 world cups. Played a ok innings against Australia last world cup after the game was out of reach. That's a big match player for you.
